Review of Mister Pushkin Springs Into Action
Mister Pushkin Springs Into Action is part of the series written by AC Michael. This book takes us through twelve springtime tales where this fun and lovable cat shows his personality and mischievousness.
We follow the feline and his arachnophobic human Klem through a stressful spring cleaning, a romantic trip in air balloon where things might not go as planned, a change of space where he'll prove his patience and his good behavior...
It gets funnier when a trip to the vet turns into a battle. Spring turns out to be a good time to dig into the garden and find something surprising, or to visit the theater for a chaotic denouement. There is a big celebration between these tales, and it will not escape the naughtiness of this feline. He even goes to the wild and is amused by the scent of unfamiliar creatures. Finally, a visit to the zoo turns out to be a bigger adventure than he expected. Those are the twelve stories I enjoyed reading.
Each chapter is a charming short story with good structure, simple but entertaining.
I loved the description of the character: a big cat who’s constantly compared to a jaguar cub. His temper results in funny actions and unexpected outcomes. Mister Pushkin is lovely and as spoiled as any other cat. He loves salmon, he purrs constantly and maybe he takes more baths than he would like to. I haven’t read other books of the series, but I immediately felt familiar with the characters and style, which I found charming.
I didn’t find any negative aspects about this book.
Mister Pushkin Springs Into Action is an amicable book, easy to read, with great pace and beautiful, funny tales. That and the fact it reads professionally edited are the reasons to give it: 4 out of 4 stars.
At the end of the book there is a link to Mister Pushkin's website which I recommend visiting to find more adventures to read.
I recommend this AC Michael’s book to children 9 to 12. Since there are no pictures, I wouldn't recommend it to a younger kid. However, any cat lover would enjoy these stories and fall in love with the main character who, in my opinion, is more adorable and funnier than Garfield.
