This little book is indeed beautifully illustrated. It's great that someone has taken the time to present facts about these much-maligned creatures. The story about the mother carrying her dead daughter to look for a suitable resting place is beautiful. To think these orcas are often still called "killer whales"!

I like the premise of this book. A book that teaches children about endangered species should be held dear, as they bring their attention to the need to conserving them. Thank you for this informative review!

How delightful to come across a book that tells of stories from the animal kingdom, specifically whales. I believe reading this book will open any reader to show more compassion to animals.

I have always felt that whales are really fascinating creatures and this book seems to just prove that again. This book dives into the lives of orca whales; how they communicate, how they grieve their dead and so much more.

I thought Whales are harmful too to humans. Humans know how to rule over creation. That's all.

How delightful it is to read that the illustrations were beautiful and captivating. I also like the simplicity of the entire story and the fact that it teaches fundamental lessons about the orca whales. Thanks for the review.

Whales are wonderful creatures and we must do more to make sure they are preserved with no spice going into extinction. This book teaches us more on orca whales. I'll love to read this book. Thanks for the review.

Whale of Wonder, by Marie-Paule Mahoney, revolves around a conversation between Notch and his mother, Mama Tahlequah. They are both orca whales, a species that is dangerously close to extinction in the present. As we follow Notch and his mother swim across the ocean, we are enlightened as to what it’s like to live as an orca whale. We learn how they communicate and how they grieve their dead. Most especially, we learn that although these animals pose no harm to humans, humans are the very reason why there are so few of them left.

The official review was excellent, the sample was totally inadequate. I agree with the official review and I would like to read this book to my grandchildren.
