I like that the book reminds its readers on the problem of racism and how we are one race. Great review.

Stories like Martha's are important pieces of history that must never be forgotten. Also, books like these are an eye-opener and help society reflect on the progress made by society in terms of race integration. Terrific review.

My Special Day in Jasper, Texas USA by Jermaine Kenyatta is a children’s book about the experiences of Martha Adams, the first black child to attend a white elementary school in Jasper, Texas. The author writes from the perspective of Martha, showing how both black and white children treated her differently after her mother chose to send her to the white school. As the first kid to integrate the school, Martha had to overcome a number of challenges, but her mother and her teacher gave her the support she needed to pave a road that many others would follow on.

What a terrible time for black children and in parts of our country this continues. Very good official review.

This sounds like a well-written book. Your review has me wanting to read the book despite it being a children's book. I do agree that it is good to remember the difficulties of the civil rights movement.

This sounds like a book on racism. Writing from Martha's perspective would allow reading to understand the notion of both white and black about skin color.

This is an educative book. It strikes my attention when the author communicates about her own experiences as a black child in an environment with white people. This is happening in the society everywhere. Great book . Great review!

I like how reading this book evokes different emotions as you follow Martha who is thrust out of her comfort zone and forced to mingle with those seemingly different from her. This is one inspiring story reflecting what millions of children experience across the world. Here's to hope for a better tomorrow. Good read.

Although this is a children's book, I think there's so much lessons to learn from it. Overcoming challenges and making history are powerful themes in this book. Martha is a wonderful character for children and adults alike to emulate. Wonderful review.

Although this is a Childrens' book, adults are also recommended to read this, as we can also impact these thoughtful and motivating lessons in the life of others. I detest Racism so much. I am glad Martha was able to pull through. Adding this book to my shelf right away. Congrats on being the book of the day.
