Dynomike: What’s Heartfulness? is a book that helps children learn about ways to be kind and thoughtful. It is written by Frankie B. Rabbit. This book is illustrated by Don Suratos. Dynomike is a little green dinosaur with a huge heart. One day, he and his friends go for a bike ride up to Jack Brussels’s house to invite him along. Unfortunately, Jack’s mom is sick! She can’t even leave her bed. Jack just wants to stay home until she gets better. Dynomike and his friends want to help, so they put their heads together to come up with a plan. That plan is “heartfulness”! Will this remedy help Jack’s mom recover so that Jack can play with them again?

This was a really sweet story to read. I loved the beautiful color scheme. The illustrations were also very cute. I liked Jack’s sad puppy dog eyes. I also enjoyed the multitude of hearts that started popping up on the pages towards the end. My favorite aspect of the book was definitely the “heartfulness” message. When Dynomike and his friends begin using this form of kindness, the creators do a great job. They really show readers just how powerful their thoughts can be. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, so I won’t say any more. I just really liked that part of the book.

I didn’t see any errors or typos of any kind. The book appears to be very professionally edited, and the illustrations really pop on a digital screen. I think a lot of kids would like this book because of the characters, easy rhymes, and bright colors. Parents and grandparents will fully appreciate the promotion of thoughtfulness. I can also see a lot of preschool teachers using this book to encourage harmony in the classroom.

There’s really nothing to dislike about this book, so I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. Kids that love to follow a favorite character in a series will be happy to know that Dynomike has more books available. I particularly liked that the author generously offered readers a free book within the pages of this one. So if you’re a parent or teacher, buying this book is like getting a two-for-one.

I highly recommend this little book to all lovers of children’s stories that contain positive messages and beautiful colors. The drawings are fun, cute, and full of personality. I’m still trying to figure out exactly what kind of creature Spunky is, so this book has some mystery as well. Overall, this is a great book for kids that will also make adults smile. Unless, of course, you hate books for kids.
