Chase and the Trampoline Car is a short book written by Meridyth Sutherland. Though the genre was not specified, I, based on its content, categorize it has a children’s book. And more precisely, I’ll prefer to call it a children’s storybook.

The book is about Chase, a little boy who loves to visit his gran. Asides playing with her, Chase loves to play with the toys in her house. One day, he visited her as usual, but this time around, something was different; he now has a new toy to play with—a trampoline. This brought him excitement, and interestingly, he later transformed it into a ‘car’. How he was able to achieve this, and the great fun he had with it, is revealed in this book.

What I like most about Chase and the Trampoline Car is that it teaches children to believe in their dreams. For Chase, it all started with an idea which he followed through until it became a reality.

However, this book lacks two essential ingredients any children’s book should have: colours and pictures. This is rather disappointing, especially after seeing the beautiful cover page (before I picked it for review). And in my opinion, in all honesty, there is no attractiveness whatsoever in this book.

In addition, Chase and the Trampoline Car was not well-edited; I found many errors which were mostly punctuation errors. I’ll like to also add that this book was not well-produced. This book lacks cover page, title page, and page numbering. I also found it unappealing that the text is entirely in all caps.

In all, reading Chase and the Trampoline Car was not as fun as I had expected. I rate this book 1 out of 4 stars, and I recommend it to children, especially those below 10 years. I also recommend it to adults who love to read children’s books.

I believe the book is trying to pass an important message to children. However, the medium of delivery is greatly flawed. I do hope the author does better next time.

It's unusual to have a children's book with no illustrations to get kids' attention. It's a bummer since I also had high hopes upon seeing the cover. Thanks for your honest review!

I agree with you that the picture on the cover is appealing. It is too bad there weren't pictures in the book and also about the flaws in the book. Thank you for a well-written review!

I think it’s a good book because the boy has many different interesting and amazing imagination and loves to think differently about many things which is wonderful and cute.

It sounds a bit like the author wasn't sure what grade he or she was writing for. It's too bad because this sounds like a cute story. Every child should have some imagination in their playtime. Hopefully the author can make a few improvements to this one. Thanks.

I agree with you. It is actually a very good book. My only concern is that I hope the targeted readers will be interested in reading it.
