Thanks for your magical review. When I read the title, I didn't know what to expect since a lounge lizard is slang for an unsavory character. But after reading the sample, I was enchanted. What a clever story! Oscar, the little boy, is delightfully smart, funny, and cheeky. I love this story. Congratulations on being chosen as BOTD.

The Adventures of Oscar and the Lounge Lizard

I read only the free sample of the book. Yet, I was delighted. The words flow smoothly. The adjectives conjure up a familiar world where Oscar lives. You believe you are there. Oscar's attitudes are correct for an eight-year-old. Julia May Clark did an excellent job of starting a story a young reader would want to finish. Well done :tiphat:

Sometimes it's good to suspend belief and enter into a world of imagination. Very relaxing, It appeals to the child in all of us. Thanks for writing.

I read the preview on Amazon, the first couple of chapters are charming, funny and intelligent. I was so charmed by it I would recommend it to all ages!
The introduction between Oscar and Larry the Lounge Lizard is reminiscent of Alice meeting The Caterpillar. It was very endearing and a clever way to introduce backstory.
Beautiful!

What an awesome BOTD! Helping children understand and cope with change and loss is extremely difficult, but, luckily, there are wonderful authors who are masters at helping kids accept the realities life throws our way. Filled with magical adventures and a focus on the positive, this children's/tween book sounds like one that would be a great addition to a home or classroom library. Thank you so much! :-)

I like the whole idea of this book. I think that it sounds to be wonderful to help children throughout the times of loss or separation as well as being bullied or learning how to stand up for themselves and or others if they are in a situation whereas they are experiencing being victims of bullies. I would love and will share this story with my little girl.

This is a really cute concept for a book. I love the use of stories like this to help young children after their parent's divorce.
I was born with a reading list I will never finish.

A nice and well-written review. A story most children will be interested in. Oscar should make a capable protagonist and it can't hurt to have a Larry the Lizard as a side kick/confidant. This is a novel to look out for. Congrats to the author on #BOTD

This sounds like a fun adventure to get children into reading. Lizards from another planet. How much more adventure could a kid want?

Excellent themes and lessons. I love how the lizard is the "lounge lizard." That is too cute.

Emperor Bumface, tells me a lot about this book. The cover is fantastic, and the content also sounds delightful, as well as insightful. It can be a challenge to combine fun with life lessons without coming across as preachy.

Death and divorce can be difficult for young children. Explaining death and divorce can be just as difficult. It seems the author has found an endearing way to help children deal with tough life circumstances, while teaching other important values like teamwork and kindness. Thanks for the charming review.
