This sounds like an interesting read, although based off your descriptions I don't think it's for me. It certainly sounds like it would be great for those around that same age so they would have that relatable factor as they, too, are coming of age.

I read the opening pages of this, and I felt like it was something I had already read. Teenage girl, alcoholic dad and a little brother she has to care for due to the mom being dead from cancer. I don’t read a lot of fiction, so when I do, the storyline has to grab me. This one just didn’t, and according to your review, it sounds like the story could use a bit more work. Thanks for the insight on this. Very detailed and good review!

Thank you for this review. The incomplete development of the story and of the characters is a common fault that can leave a reader feeling a bit dissatisfied. However, I do like the sound of the general plot and am sure there will be those who will love this book.

This sounds like a great book for teens. I’m interested because of the issues that Piper is going through. I want to see what these auras are. I’ll put this on my list to read.

This is a very thorough and interesting review. Thank you for the detail. I think I would enjoy reading this book. The mixture of fantasy/ magic and complex characters sounds interesting.

First I love the cover art for this novel! the cat is beautiful. This is a coming of age story that incorporates fantasy characters. The beginning was very vivid with a woman in labor and really made me curious as to what was going on. Very intriguing right from the start.

This is a coming of age fantasy that highlights destiny, love, magic, and adventure. The book has a free sample on Amazon Kindle and has an inciteful OnlineBookClub review. I rated the book 4 out of 4 stars. Congrats @Mitchel_Street for the BOTD.

I think a lot of young teens could relate to Piper. I also think that many teens would enjoy this book. I enjoyed reading the sample and I will be adding this book to my shelves. Great review.

Thanks for reviewing!
Sounds like an interesting book.Although I have mixed feelings about it since you said that the some characters are not well developed, I'll sure give it a try.

I love young adult fantasy. I love magic and coming-of-age stories. Sounds like this teens powers are just awakening at 18. Overall, this would normally pique my interest. Hopefully the book gets a little more TLC.

Though it was brief and just a sample ebook, I think that the characters in the book need some clear description, though the story was like 2 out of 4 for me.
