Prophase; A present Tale (The mitosis series Book !) By; Mitchel Street. First i would like to comment the Cover page as spectacular! having the cat face with those beautiful features is in itself awesome, I read this book and at first it drew me into confusion, my first impression of the story talked about a woman going through labour pains at an advanced age, you can just imagine the pains under such circumstances, given that she was alone with just but the company of trees and the whizzing breeze inside a lonely forest!, the setup of the story at first simplifies a deserted lonely forest providing habitat to wild animals and this lonely mature lady who went through labour pains un-assisted but managed to give birth to a bouncing baby girl. The narrator suddenly makes you forget about the process of giving birth and throws you almost unawares to another story within the story, taking one back to past life of the character where it pegs your attention to the fact that the character lost her mother at her tender age, and had to put up with a father who lost hope and became slave to alcohol to quench his frustrations of loosing a wife and again struggling with work challenges and taking care of a young boy left behind by the dead mother, all this symbolizes a hell of responsibility to bear at that age. You could certainly feel the suspense existing between two different worlds experienced by the character as put by the narrator, the narrator made it easy for the reader to associate with the character from the start to the end almost seamlessly generating a lot of emphasis on her personality, i.e as an hospitable character, easy going, adventurous, responsible, protective, mindful of others, cares about nature, career focused, humble and at the end of it all you feel pity to the character. the narrator also build up a multi-faced themes out of the character 'piper' you could classify this story as action,Thriller, imaginative, educative, informative, entertaining, while still laying emphasis on 'sorrow' & 'Pity' the phases at which the narrator put the story through makes it quite interesting, the story certainly talks about the life of the character, in three Phases, the past, present, and future all in one package! the story creates a suspense i.e. i would like to know after Piper was dumped by his 2 year boyfriend Chris, what next? after she progresses to the university and meets again with Chris what happens? as well as what happened to other characters, Her father, Lisa her friend, her old friend Esther, Charlie his kid brother e.t.c. Looking forward to Reading the 2nd series of this story! if i was to rate it i could give 3 stars out of 4.

I think M Street’s characters are strong and convincing. I love Piper; she is relatable and able to adapt as her world quickly changes.

With that aside, I agree with the reviewer that some things might be forced. Even though I haven't read the book yet (only sampled it), even the description felt far-fetched because of the amount of events. There's too much going on and I fear there's not enough room for development. That's typical when it comes to coming of age novels, but it's also why I don't actually enjoy reading them.

I think this would still be an intriguing read. Probably the other books in the series fills in these details as our Main Character learns them? One can only hope...Vague descriptions were provided that still left many questions.
