Seen the movie but haven't read the book yet. I'm looking forward to seeing how the book will be.

Such a good book. I will never see people the same. Its insane to even think someone could be capable of such behavior. You feel for the girl in the fake journal but the real people chose who they chose, they made their bed and have to lie in it. Its so mind bending to know the whole story, want to see more books of this caliber.

This book makes you really look at the news differently. When you see a missing person story, you have to ask yourself... Is this real? A hoax? Runaway? Kidnap? I love a book that makes you think beyond the time you are reading it.

The movie was a bit different, but still did a good job with staying loyal to the book's plot. I do wish that Nick had been more fleshed out because they portrayed him as more of a jerk than anything.

I have read and enjoyed the book ... and watched half the movie. Yes, I got bored. Perhaps it just felt too much like th3 move was focused on replicating the plot rather than e.g. character development ... and as I knew the plot already it needed something more.

I still liked the book better, but I thought the movie really held true to the book for the most part. It felt like the movie rushed some of the parts that the book did better elaborating on. Both though were very good.

I read the book and then watched the movie. I enjoyed the book. The movie did keep close to the book but I feel that this can make a film too predictable, especially when the plot is its main strength. I felt the same way about the Davinci Code.

I did not read the book. I had watched the movie only and to say, I was floored by it would be an understatement. I never anticipated the twist. It was mind-blowing. I loved Rosamund Pike in the movie.

I haven't read or watched Gone Girl-- despite downloading the sample-- and reading the topic of the thread makes me feel like I'm missing out on something epic.

I'm going to watch the movie, read the book, and come back. :)

The movie was really good. It maintained the darkness and foreboding atmosphere in the book.

I think both the book and the movie is amazing. Both tell the story so well and the acting perfectly brings alive the characters in the book.

The casting was amazing, Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck both fit their roles so well. The movie was really good for an adaptation overall, I really enjoyed it even though it left a few things out, it was still good in the end.

The movie did a fantastic rendition of the novel and stayed true to the plot 99% of the time. I thought the characters were well cast, and I felt absolutely aggravated by all their characters, just like in the book. Amy was absolutely perfect in her role. Overall, I thought it was very good.

I would have to agree. I actually watched the movie and then read the book. Unlike most, the movie did seem to follow the plot and keep the characters fairly true to the book. Like most, I did enjoy the book more: mostly due to a deeper understanding and connection with the characters. It engaged me throughout more than the movie. The movie did have some slow parts. Both were so enteratining my husband and I could not stop reading or watching!
