What faction would you have chosen at 16?

Discuss the June 2014 book of the month Divergent by Veronica Roth. While only Divergent--the first book of the series--is the book of the month, feel free to use this subforum to discuss the rest of the series or to talk about the movies, but make sure not to post spoilers unless noted in the topic title.

I would have chosen Amity, I prefer peace and freedom over anything.

I like to think I'm brave when no one else is. I think making that decision at sixteen is no different than choosing a career path when you're sixteen because that leads you to choose whether or not you want to graduate high school, pick a college, and see if you have to do any post grad work. Beyond that it also decides how much you will make in the future.
Erudite is much more controlled. I would have loved it but for that. Dauntless looks appealing but it's pretty harsh too. They have moments when you really question being with them. Haha

I would stay with my family for one. Unless it was important that I move to another faction. I love Amity as it looks much more serene honestly.

Erudite. I thought I'd pick dauntless but I would have never jumped off that ledge. I'm more brain smart than street smart anyway. And have a thirst for knowledge, so definitely I'd have picked erudite then.
I'm here for a good time, not a long time. Yolo!

In particular, I could not have chosen any, I feel very identified with the 4, out of obligation I would have chosen where the majority of my relatives were.

Perhaps I might have chosen Dauntless simply because of how appealing the faction is on a surface level to rebellious teenager. Unfortunately, I am definitely not cut out for the physical challenges of the faction, so maybe Candor is a better fit for me, because I think honesty is a treasure on its own.

I am honestly starting to believe that the Amity people have the most fun at this point and lead a healthy life. Might as well go with them.

I would have chosen Amity, it feels peaceful and happy and dramaless. I won't have fair well in any other fractions according to me.

At 16, I definitely would have chosen Abnegation. I would have most likely gone crazy a year or two later, but I would have been born into Abnegation and stayed there. It's not that I am or was completely selfless, but I strived to prove that beauty is only skin deep and the greatest gift is giving.
