I like your statement about the evils of technology being escaped through books and the library

The idea of Sophie the AI trying to destroy people she can't enslave is a great premise. This sounds like great dystopian science fiction. I wondered if it was a departure from your usual detective story genre until you mentioned the body count! Thanks for another interesting review.
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".

Thanks for pointing out that the book has editing issues. I think the way you described the book is somewhat confusing I'm confused about Sophie and Alex and their roles. The story line sounds interesting, I'm not too excited about the lack of editing.

I’m sorry you found my description confusing. Basically, Sophie is a computer that’s trying to take over the world and Alex is trying to stop her.

Thanks for your review. It sounds like the author really understands autism and it's interesting that the individuals that resist Sophia are 'different' than the norm. Not my type of book though, so I'll probably skip it.

"I also liked the way the resistance was run from bookshops; an allegory for the modern world where an escape from the evils of technology is to be found in books and libraries."

I so hope that, if push came to shove, bookshops and libraries would still be around as centers for resistance! Wonderful review!

I enjoy fast-paced books. This one sounds like it has a different plot than I have read before so I think I would enjoy the context of this book. However, I don't think I would enjoy the editing errors. Too many errors can make reading challenging.

This seems like a very unique, considering the fact that the main character of this science fiction has Aspereger's Syndrome. Also, the parallels of the AI Sopie with the real life bot called Sophia makes the book sound more interesting.

Thank you for the great review.
