So far I have only read the review and the sample pages from Amazon but both were very enjoyable. Even with just reading the sample pages and the review I get the impression that this book is a bit of a mix of Tom Sawyer and Treasure Island. Makes me look forward to reading it.

The Promise by Hank Ellis is similar to the works of C.S. Lewis in some striking ways. The book shares great morals and is also quite interesting to readers.

This sounds like a good book. I would like to know more about the adventures of Dave and his brother. I would read this book. The reviewer did a good job of describing the book.

Adventures and lessons on respect and kindness: perfection. Great review.

Being a fan of magical books like the Narnia series, I am definitely going to read this book! I like the ideas of kids having a childhood that utilizes their creativity and imagination. It brings forth so many wonderful outcomes because of it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

It sounds like an interesting story. I like that it has a positive message of respecting "parents and being kind to others." The review compares this story to movies "It has a weird mix of similarities to Bridge to Terabithia, Chronicles of Narnia" which makes me more interested in reading it , I like these movies. Congratulations on BOTD.

This one is easy for me. Just love adventures and magic. And when the review compares it to the chronicles of Narnia, you know you're in for a treat. Congratulations on botd.

I enjoy how you noted the simpler more adventurous childhood without technology hindering them. I too remember my childhood exploring the rock pools next to the seashore...nothing rivals those carefree days of discovery. I think I would enjoy this book even if only for the purpose of taking me back to my own childhood memories 🎈

'Official Review: The Promise: a perilous journey by Hank Ellis' is delightful and does not disappoint. It is the knowledge of the story in condensed form. It well describes the earlier work of authors.

While I am not typically a fan of books about childhood adventures such as this, however, I do have friends who very much love this topic. Based on the review and the sample I read, I will be recommending this book to a few friends who I feel would very much like it.

I still enjoy reading YA books especially when it involved adventure and nature. I would like to viscerally experience the journey of this two adolescent brothers when they discovered the hidden cave.
