This is more of a children's book that parents can read to kids tucked in bed, ready for Dreamland.

Thank you for a good review. The tedious storytelling and the numerous grammatical errors keep the reader from having an enjoyable reading experience.

Regarding the work itself, while such a level of imagination indeed is commendable, a question arises in my mind. Was so much effort behind creating the world really necessary, when essentially the plot is about a group of children trying to escape a form of torture? I mean, apparently this story could be planted anywhere else as well, though you will be a much better judge of this since you have read the novel.

Thank you for reading and commenting, Penny Lee. The author doesn't lack imagination but the language barrier stumped him.Penny Lee wrote:The fantastical creatures and landscape in this book sound interesting, as does the plot it is unfortunate that:Thank you for a good review. The tedious storytelling and the numerous grammatical errors keep the reader from having an enjoyable reading experience.

I do hope the author finds a good editor for this book.Excitedreads wrote:The book seems to have quite an interesting plot. I love ghe outlandish features and thr creation of a mystical world, but the many grammatical errors would drive me crazy. But i won't doubt it will be a great read post a bit more editing. Thank you for your well put together analysis and review Miriam.

I believe the author wanted to create a whole new world for his children and all other children. He described children as the hope for the future in his dedication page. Perhaps, he was emulating JRRTolkien who wrote his books for his grandchildren.rik17 wrote:Thank you for the wonderful picture that you drew of the world through your review. Reading it, it is articulate that you love to write.

(A Whole New World, if I recall correctly, was the theme song of the Disney movie Aladdin. The song was played while Aladdin and Princess Jasmine were flying over the kingdom aboard the magic carpet. Scaba also has flying carpets but I did not mention this in my review.)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, rik17! Your compliment is also much appreciated.

Unfortunately, the book hasn't gotten BOTD honor yet. I'll be happy in case that happens.El-kanah wrote:Looks like this text has been chosen for book of the day. Such a captivating story, nice write up.

Thanks, Quinto (aka Andrew Kyalo, right?), for finding the wonder in my review. Now, you need to read the book to satisfy your curiosity. You seem to be a diviner yourself, posing those questions.Quinto wrote:Hi Miriam,my curiosity has gotten the better of me. I hope the author has addressed why these two tribes are so different physically? Why their affinity for humans? To me the magician should be king, they simply can't do without him! Well, couldn't help imagining... Thanks for a wonderful review.
