This sounds like an intriguing story that isn’t too far off from reality. I’m curious about the evil scientists that want to cultivate mutations.

:techie-reference: Congrats to Calix Leigh-Reign for BOTD honor. "Opaque" sounds like a page-turner with an interesting and intriguing twist. My generation didn't grow up appreciating this genre especially in print. I think I will apply my super powers to enjoy reading a well-written sci-fi novel.

It's a pass for me. Although I enjoyed your review, I've become wary of certain hyped books that fall within certain genres, especially when it's my favorite genre; I've been disappointed several times too many. Plus, I'm not a fan of romance by a long shot.

This Sci-Fi novel is along the storyline of the TV series The Mutants which has taken my interest for quite a while. Persons who mutated, with special capabilities were rounded up and further developed in a secret facility to make them cope up with their weirdness. This would be an enthralling read. Add to it the romantic angle of the woman coming into the aid of the main character. Thanks for the review.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting young adult fantasy following a mutated young man named Adam who is trying to deal with his new abilities. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This book paints an interesting picture of Adam, a 16-year-old boy dealing who is a mushy combination of new-found super powers, doe-eyed love, and puberty. I'd love to see how all these play out in the character's thought process and decisions. Amazing review.

The over all story sounds very interesting. I enjoy the main character, he's very flawed which makes him more realistic. I do have one complaint, the way it is written seems like they shoved big words in random places. It makes the story sound pretentious, at least to me. But don't take my word for it, by all means please read the story. Its a good story. Its just not my type of writing.

Thanks for the review! Reading about a young man undergoing biokenretic change is not my kind of thing.

Calix does an excellent job with the plot and the twists at the end. The world she draws you into is unique but at the same time reasonably normal. The characters in this book not only deal with the mutation that they have, but love, stress, and going to work and school to name a few. I was reading about the different powers that each descendant has, and all I could think about were superheroes and X-Men. In my opinion, this book is up there with the best in its genre.
I think it's great that the author includes more "mundane" experiences because this is a novel targeted towards young adults and it might help them relate to the characters.
I'm not into this genre, but I'm glad you enjoyed the novel so much! Thanks!

This genre is way out of my comfort zone. I didn't even enjoy the sample.
