I like books with paranormal twists. Excessive weight as a result of a dog's bite is very original, I've never heard about this before. This one sounds very interesting. Thanks for the review.

With the allergic reaction to the werewolf bite, this does indeed sound like an alternative spin on a paranormal YA novel. I can already see from the components of the review that it's both funny and sad. It's great that it's character driven too - I'm quite interested in reading this. Quick reads have their place!

Thank you for your review. I can't believe his parents shunned him because he got sick. That seems awfully harsh. Who are these people?

Supernatural YA books are definitely very popular nowadays. This book seems to fit the genre based on the sample and the review. I agree about the note on the writing style although I'm fine with the pace.

Thanks for your review! I'm definitely interested in reading it now. I used to really enjoy YA novels, but lately they all follow the same formula and have a grating writing style. I'm excited to hear that this one is different.

I am a fan of paranormal fiction, so I will read Out of Darkness by M A Richards. Young adult does not always appeal to me, but if intrigued, I will pick up a book with this genre and read it.
The reviewer talks about the fast pace of this book which makes me wonder if 4 stars was too generous. Sometimes, the everyday intricacies help define your characters. However, since the characters seemed to be well thought out, that was probably the factor that pushed me to read this book.

From being bullied into being the last hope of a great werewolf order. It's a great twist to add to this YA paranormal fiction. I look forward to reading the book. Thanks for the informative review!
