This sounds like a fun addition to the paranormal world of YA fiction. Despite some of the downfalls mentioned in the review above, I think that this one will definitely be worth looking further into. This goes beyond the regular "Werewolf'' theme and seems like it adds humour and originality to the plot.

Nice review! I enjoy YA novels and the supernatural twist sounds interesting. I’ll have to add this to my reading list.

The supernatural genre is extremely huge right now. With that said, authors have to have something to make them unique. If the creatures have something different about them then I would like to see what that is. I will check this out.

I expected a mysterious, action-packed werewolf story when I saw the cover. But, after reading the review, I'm quite surprised by some things. Finally we've got a a main character that isn't perfect in every sense.

I don't mind the YA writing style, it kind of suits the werewolf/monster theme. The only thing I might not like about this book is humour, I hope there will be more action than funny scenes.

Thank you for the review Out of Darkness by M A Richards. It sounds like an interesting read for a young adult who is into paranormal elements and unique twists on the werewolf theme. It has some good initial reviews, so I've downloaded it, though I'm more interested in adult fantasy.

This one is DEFINITELY going on my "Will Read" list, as I love both YA and supernatural books. It's interesting that a dog bite is what led to Brian's obesity. I wonder if I can blame my dog's love nips on my weight gain, *lmao*. Too bad about the pacing, but it sounds like you enjoyed it just the same, and I'm sure that I will, too. Thanks for the review!

This novel sounds very different from many fantasy young adult novels. I like that the plot is about how Brian deals with becoming a werewolf and the reactions of his loved ones. I agree that the plot could have been longer and a more detailed description of Brian's everyday life after being bitten.

Based on this review this book sounds like a book right up my alley. The reviewer says the book was to fast paced and lacking in description but YA books are fast paced and not as detailed as adult books. I am very excited to read this book!

Whoever knew that getting bitten by a dog could unfold unknown prophecies and betrayals? Intriguing! I love YA, and would like to join Brian on his rollercoaster ride discovering his new self. Thanks for the review.

Sounds like a fun afternoon read. Maybe the next installment will be longer, with more descriptions.

This sounds like an interesting read, I hope I can enjoy it as much as you did. YA books that have to deal with the supernatural are hard to find if you are looking for something that separates it from other books of its kind. Your review is very helpful in describing rather this book is unique in its own way.

A novel for YA with an intriguing supernatural story. I've already added it to my want-to-read shelf.
