This book has the potential to be a great novel. Save for the numerous minor characters, some with multiple names. I hope the author improves on the grammar errors as well. Good review.

It really is too bad that it wasn't written better. The premise is very compelling, especially the idea of Jim telling his story to the guards. It would probably also be better if Jim had been the focus of the book rather than his dad. I might still check it out myself but I don't think I have the time for it right now. Thank you for the thorough and very honest review.

Very interesting storyline. I believe people who love political thrillers would love this book. Too bad it's not your favorite genre and you didn't enjoy the book. The improper editing of the book is also a let down. This rating could discourage people who would actually love the story.

Even though the characters may not be well developed the plot seems interesting.I will give Raging Falcon a chance and see how it goes.

Thank you for the very honest review. It seems like some folks are able to quickly forgive major editing and story line mistakes. I like how honest you were about the issues with this book. The YA designation sounds like a major misnomer.

I really appreciate an honest review so thanks for this one. It's really a shame that this isn't well-written, as I thought the story sounded intriguing. It makes me wonder about all the positive reviews on Amazon. Of course, reading a book is subjective, but the faults you mentioned seem like they would be pretty glaringly obvious to others...unless he has revised the book since your review from December of last year. Would be interesting to know.

Thanks again for the insight on the book.

I appreciate the honesty in your review, very refreshing. It's unfortunate that this book did not bode well, because it's synopsis was quite interesting. However, I completely agree that the graphic content and language is unsuitable for the Young Adult genre. How did it get by with that label? I am a little confused as to why it has been chosen for Book of the Day, when you have made it clear you would not recommend it to readers. I would think a BOTD would be selected for its positive reviews. At any rate, very well-written on your part. Good job!

I'm usually particular with the rating given to a book by a reviewer. 1 out of 4 is bad. Furthermore the reviewer has stated that there are lots of sex scene, rape and assault. This book is definitely not for me.

Call me a glutton for punishment, but your review, and rating, make me want to read it! LOL Just to see why you would give it such a low star... But I'm not a big fan of political stuff so I may not like it just for that reason... :( I shall have to see, eh? ;)

The book seems like it has potential, however the pacing coupled with the confusing number if characters and character reference leaves much to be desired.
