Redemption for evil, lies and deception, and fight for life on death row: this sounds like the plot is promising. It is unfortunate that you, when push comes to shove, found it lacking. Thanks for the review.

Yes it is too bad it isn't written well as it could sound like a pretty interesting book. Probably something I would not feeling reading right now but thanks for sharing.

After reading your review I have to say I'm surprised it was chosen as a BOTD. It does make me wonder what criteria they use to select these books.

I'm not sure this is for me because of how violently and sexually graphic it is, but the cover is still really beautiful.

In the beginning of the review, this appeared to be a great book. It seemed to have so much potential until I read further. I’m sorry that you didn’t get to enjoy the book. Thanks for an honest review.

It is fascinating to me that this is book of the day. I appreciate your candor in describing the language as well as graphic sexuality, including rape. All these would be enough to keep me from the book on their own. I love the book cover art, and the premise of the story is such that I can see where I might have picked it up.

I don't much enjoy politics in any form. I don't think this book would be good for me.

At first, I was excited by the premise of this book, but the more I read of your review the less interested I became. It sounds like this one needs some work.

Political fantasy is not a genre I enjoy at the best of times, let alone combined with explicit sex scenes and violence. I also struggle with stories that do not contain characters that the reader can connect with on some level.

Sounds like this book had the potential to be a good one. Probably just needed some major editing. Spelling and grammatical errors are a definite turn off for me. With things like rape scenes it sounds like it would also appeal to those who like reading darker books.

From your description, it would seem that this should definitely not be in the YA category. It is unfortunate that none of the characters was likable. Thanks for the review.

I agree with you, I don't think a reader should have to go back and forth between pages to understand what's going on. I'm glad you were so honest in your review. It seems like this book still needs some more editing and maybe some better publicity to try to get an older audience and not have it classed as a young adult novel. Great job on your review, I appreciate your honesty. :)
