I agree! Four is a pretty good book as well. Maybe consider checking out Graceling by Kristin Cashore, and The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyers?

I really love The Selection Series by Kiera Cass. I've read them three times now. It's similar to the popular TV show The Bachelor.

Paper towns by John Green is a book I enjoyed thoroughly. It's a romantic- nystery which is also very funny and full of suspense. It is a real page turner. Even other books by John Green are good. Another book which I would be recommending is Bone Gap.

My favorite is Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series, along with the Clockwork series. Those books got me BACK into reading more and more over the past few years.

One of my favorite series is Tui T. Sutherland's Avatars trilogy. It's out of print; I read it when we lived near a library that had the set. The cost of copies is quite dear.

A couple of my favority YA authors are Sarah Dessen and Chis Crutcher. They both have books that address issues of YA. They are always amazing no matter what the topic/plot of the book.

I'd recommend anything from the Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare. The Infernal Devices is based in the 1800s (I believe if I remember correctly). The Mortal Instruments would technically be based just a few years ago. The Infernal Devices (not complete yet) is based in today's time. They all connect families and characters, too, which I love.

Jodi Picoult teamed up with her daughter Samantha Van Leer and wrote a couple of novels, Between the Lines and Off the page where one main character falls in love with a main character in her favorite fairytale. It's a cute little YA romance that gives the book characters a voice and really gets you thinking.

When I was younger, I enjoyed most any book from Judy Blume. She really seemed to be able to connect with her YA audience.

There is so many YA books to choose but a series that i discovered recently (although i have re-read them 2 times already) is the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld. There are 4 books in the series however the last book is from a different characters perspective. The first 3 books follow Tally Youngblood a 15 year old girl and her journey to becoming a pretty.
I loved this book as it deals with issues many teenagers going through puberty face i.e appearances however these factors are highlighted by the government and is what this society is based on.
