This does sound like a book that should be read by more people. This is a topic that needs to addressed more. It has to be very difficult to go through being a transgender person. I love the cover also! Thanks for the review!

A book on transgender, and the theme of friendship. Sounds interesting. Thanks for the review

From your review, it seems like a well written book, despite the editing errors. I am glad that you liked it. Congrats to the author on the 4/4 review!

Thanks for your review. Though it's a shame about the typos and errors, the storyline touches my heart and I'd love to read more about this book.

Thank you for a great review katiesquilts on My Ladybird story. What an amazing sample on a transgender teenager story about before he even realizes he feels like he should be a girl. He wonders if he is gay. He has a great older brother and meets a wonderful friend. Thanks to the author.

Official review: My ladybird story by Magus Tor

My Ladybird story by Magus Tor has all the klishe ingredients that make a story likeable. (Spoiler alert)The bullied guy, who doesn’t feel quite comfortable in his skin, the new friendly student who ends up being his anchour. The topic is quite ‘in’ but the setting and characters kind of fake with bits that were borrowed by other books and high school films. I had the impression that I was reading a ‘Twilight’ and ‘The Duff’ mix novel, without the whole mythical elements. I had a feeling that the author hadn’t decided how to portray the main character yet: a teenage normal version of Edward Cullen or an insecure mooronish Weasley. As mentioned above, a likeable but not memorable story.

As a teacher, I have met several transgender students. I can only imagine what they face on a daily basis from others, kids and adults alike. I don't know if I ever would have been brave enough to deal with this as a young teen. Your review of 'My Ladybird Story' intrigues me, and motivates me to read the novel. Surely, others will be inspired to read it too!

Definitely, not interested in a book that promotes changing ones sex. Man thinks they can outwit the Creator of the universe, how wrong man is. :no-spoil:
