"Splendid"--yes, that's precisely the write word to describe this writing! Not just the considerable talent for wordsmithing, but the magic that seems to ooze out of each sentence, & even each character's name.

I've only read the first few pages, but I certainly want to read to the end. Now that i've read your review, I'll know not to lose heart in the middle. :)

A book about family and there's magic included! This will be a fascinating read to me.

I love magical realism so I'm sure I'll enjoy The Improbable Wonders of Moojie Littleman. I'm intrigued by the idea of the supernatural clan that wants Moojie to join them. I'm wondering why he would want to. Considering that they are called the Hostiles, you would think they aren't very friendly. I can't wait to really get into the story. Thanks for the great review.

I want to know more about the Hostiles! Why do the the villagers hate them, anyway? Time to find out! Thank you for your review.

Thank you for the in depth review. When I downloaded the book I put it to my "not interested in reading" shelf as neither young adult nor fantasy are my choice of genres. Even though your review intrigued me about the book, especially the part about the supernatural clan asking questions as riddles, the part about the middle having slow moving momentum (which I appreciated your honesty) convinced me this is not the book for me.

A disabled boy trying to find love in the society is a tale needed to be told. It would seem that the character is very relatable and the setting which is 1800s caught my interest. Since you mentioned it is rather a slow read, I would set aside the book for now but be sure to read it if i have the time. Thanks for the review!

This book sounds intriguing, and I'm fascinated by the 1800s setting. I'm a fan of magic realism as well, so this book sounds like it'd be a good match for me. My only reservation is the sagging middle, but hopefully the rest of the book truly makes up for it. Thank you for the insightful review.

I think the story definitely sounds like it has promise, though the plot as a search for family isn’t one that I’m especially interested in. I’m glad that despite the fact that it loses momentum in the second part, the book was still enjoyable enough to earn a four star rating. Thanks for writing a review.

This book seems like one that will get your attention and blow your mind. Even if it does get slow in the middle.

Oh, this sounds really awesome! And who wouldn't want to read a story taking place on a fainting goat farm!!! LOL

This sounds like a great book made more so by how beautiful you made the imagery look and the prose as well. The stpryline is also commendable. Great review.
