Just like so many other trilogies, this first one was my favorite.
I thought it introduced the world to us in a very unique fashion, although I did get lost a little bit.

I didn't think that the writing style was great, but it wasn't horrible either.
However, my main issue with the book would just be the relationship between Cassie and Evan. In times like the setting in the book, I can't help but feel that the way their romance developed was harshly out of place.

I read the first book and thought it was fine. Not great, but definitely good enough to get me to continue the series. Then I read reviews of the other two books in the series and I'm hesitant to start the next one. And now I feel like I'm a little biased because I expect them to be bad.

I started reading this series when I saw the trailer for the movie. Im the type of person that likes to compare books to the movies. I really liked the first book. I flew through it in about 2 or 3 days. I enjoyed it so much I went on to the second book. I liked that one a lot too. The story really picked up for me in terms of action. Love stories mixed with action gets me every time. The third and final book was a bit disappointing. I was really looking forward to reading it but was really let down. The ending was just awful. It really seemed like Rick Yancey gave up on it. Way too many unanswered questions for me. Like what happens to Cassie up in space? What about the mothership? How is Evan Walker still alive after being electrocuted? Why was Ringer being pregnant just thrown in? I was really hoping for a semi happy ending, but what i got instead absolutely sucked. The series is fine and good, but the way it ends is aggravating.

I actually really loved this book. I've recently finished it and the second one, though I'm still working on the third. I thought the movie did a pretty good job considering that there are so many times movies don't really keep all the good things about the book in the transition, which is ultimately why I was so disappointed to learn about the fact that a sequel was unlikely. I don't know why it didn't get a better reception there.

I really enjoyed this book after a friend of mine suggested it to me. I loved the depiction of the five waves and I could completely see what was being described. If you love sci-fi I would definitely suggest reading this book.

I really liked the 5th Wave. The movie was terrible, but the book blended some really good dystopian sci fi.

I haven't read this yet, but it looks very interesting. I bought it for my friend and it was all she could talk about while she was reading it.

I actually watched the movie version of the book. If anyone has watched the movie and read the book, would you say the book is better or the movie for The 5th Wave?

I read this one a while back and I remember liking it, but I can’t remember too many details. Might give it a reread someday when I want a fast-paced sci-fi novel
We’re gonna need a bigger bookshelf.

Has anyone finished this entire series? I loved the first book when I read it, and still to this day I remember most of what happens and how much fun I had reading it. The second book was sort of a let down though, and I felt like there was a shift in the tone of this series that I didn't appreciate. Because of that I never got around to reading the final book, but I'm not sure if it's going to continue in the direction of the second book or if it gets better. Does anyone who read the last one have any suggestions?

I see a lot of positive comments here, but I really didn't like this book. The writing style was confusing and the main character was obnoxious. The idea wasn't bad, I just hated the execution. It took me a couple of tries just to finish the first book and I don't see myself ever picking up another one from the series.

I listened to this as an audiobook and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I read the other books as well and really enjoyed them. I don't actually remember a movie coming out, but now I'm going to look that up and see if it did. I would definitely watch a movie version!
