Sometimes the worst things of life brings out the best in us. Seeing Aiyasha dare the rubble to find dreams, pursuit and life in what others might describe as a crumbling burden, is inspiring. This is a beautiful book that sparks hope and resilience. Great review.

Seems like a good book for both the younger audience, as it is targeted to the teenage range, but also anyone else who needs a reminder in strength in the face of being dumped into a bad situation. Resilience and determination can get you far, even if it doesn't seem like it all the time.

I love the idea discussed in this book. Kinda an overwhelming read with positive message. living with less privileged life but they can do as much as any other child. Look forward for the happy ending. I don't like the title, tho. Thank you for an insightful review.

Only God knows how Aiyasha coped with this situation. The responsibility she had to take is too much for a young child of her age. I find the plot of this book interesting congrats on winning BOTD.

It sounds as if the author is making a point of being resilient and determined, even if your circumstances seem overwhelmingly difficult.

The struggle of being an orphan is not one that many people can relate to. I'm excited to see how the protagonist helps take care of the other children, as well as the exposure of further mistreatments

Being an orphan at the delicate age of 15 is hard enough, but taking care of another seven children as well takes a very strong and resilient character. This book is certainly a character teacher for children.

I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to find out how Aiyasha at fifteen, who at young age and status in life is given a huge responsibility of taking care of others with no financial means. How she struggled to rise above the harshness of society for the poverty stricken ones and the cruelty of the powerful seems to be the focus of this book.

This book sounds very authentic about the real life of a boy in an African village and it hooks you right from the beginning with very simple story telling about how the boy and his family live day to day.

Typical of people in power that are expected to protect and provide for the people they are leading. Instead, they Lord it over them and treat them as less human.
Aiyasha an orphan at fifteen was made responsible for other orphans. But, her determination and resilience made her perform her role so well.

A book I will gladly recommend for every teenager and should be included in the list of literary texts in our schools.

I must commend the reviewer for this well written review.

A well written book that can be enjoyed by many different age groups. Written in a young person's voice, this novel sets the stage for a glimpse into the lives of a group of orphans as they navigate a world set against them. This novel lifts up voices from characters of color and weave a tale worth reading!

Every child deserves to be treated equally and not neglected because of their status. I admire the orphans' courage and resilience to look after each other. Congrats on BOTD!!

Having to care for other children while being a child herself is really admirable. No child deserve to go through life without their parents. The context of this book spells out the errors of adults towards children.
