Artemis Fowl - Eoin Colfer

Post by acasto »

I read the entire series a few years ago, but I don't remember very much about them. Do you think that they are worth re-reading?

Definitely. I have read the series multiple times, though I think another book has been published since I last read them. I always enjoy it, usually because I find Artemis to be such a sympathetic character that always seems to come out on top.

You totally should, they are tons of fun. And now that the movie is coming I think that will become relevant again.

This is one of my favorite series. If you have never read this series, the best way I can describe it is, high tech Tinkerbell meets Die Hard. The fourth book is my favorite.

Well It is definitely worth re-reading if you don't really remember the story cause Artemis is just such a genius and everyone just enjoys manipulative mind :)

I will re-read the series as soon as am done with the "books-to-read" shelves.

Definitely worth re-reading. I'm going to do it myself too. Its not often I come across villainous child trying to take over the world using fairy tech which is really super high tech and not some fairy dust voodoo.

Absolutely worth the reread. The Artemis Fowl series is one of my favorites. I'm in the middle of rereading this series right now, as a matter of fact, and I can say that it's definitely worth it!

I loved this series! I listened to the audiobook versions of some of the books in the series, and I really enjoyed them. The reader did a great job of voicing the different characters. I also liked that in the books, the fairies weren't all pixie dust and rainbows. That being said, I'm not a fan of re-reading books. With the exception of children's books picture books, I cannot think of a book I have ever re-read! I just think there are so, so many wonderful books in the world, and I should try to experience as many different ones as possible! You might be interested in trying the Pendragon series, the Percy Jackson series, the Kane Chronicles, or the Septimus Heap series.

I read all the books and loved them! my family and I loved the audiobooks too. the one thing I have to say is that the ending of the last one is pretty bad. I also didn't really like the Atlantis Complex and the Time Paradox but I did love the others. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

You should definitely. It's the type of series that's just as good the fourth time you read it as it was the first.

Definitely, and I can't stress this enough. I was in the exact same position as you as I had read them when I was younger, but when I re-read them I saw everything in a new light as well as some hidden meanings and life lessons. The Arctic incident in particular is truly what you would call a page turner with the whole SPOILER WATCH OUT!!: Butler situations that go on.
