Jeremiah James Grice’s The Adventure On Cutlass Island is a book that is under the genre of juvenile fiction, action, and adventure. It is a thrilling short read of about 158 pages.

The book centers on the adventures of two close friends, Peter and George. They went hunting, and after this, they proceeded to George’s cabin. In George’s cabin, they met his mother and granny, and subsequently, they left with their wagon to hear a man preach. However, due to the harsh weather, they had to take shelter in a cave. Their stay at the cave facilitated the loss of their wagon, and this was the beginning of the separation of the boys and their families. Also, this led to weeks of adventure between the boys. This adventure was filled with pain, fear, risks, among others.

As I read this book, I had a lot of questions. Will the boys reunite with their families? Will they face difficulties? Will they overcome them?

The author introduced several characters. A lot of qualities are evident in the two main characters—Peter and George—but the preeminent one is bravery. Their bravery was so terrific that I would have commended them if I encountered them physically. Peter’s dad, Robert McGraw, is a selfless man who would do anything for the safety of his son. Granny cherishes her belongings and has a funny accent. George’s mother is one that can convince another to make an unplanned move.

The suspense in this book is capable of getting a reader tensed. Also, I encountered a major twist that got me super surprised. Furthermore, the concise nature of this book paves the way for a smooth and enjoyable read.

At the beginning of this book, I felt it centers on a single adventure. However, as the book progressed, I discovered that there is a lot more the author explored. This is what I loved most in the book, as it made it more engaging and less monotonous.

Aside from the fact that I had an unanswered question, there was nothing I disliked about this book. The book contains no errors. Therefore, it was professionally edited. Consequently, I am awarding it a perfect rating of four out of four stars.

This book does not contain profane words. On the other hand, it has no erotic scenes. Individuals who enjoy action-packed and adventurous books will find this book appealing, and I recommend it to them.
