Should sort stories focus on the plot or on the character

When writing short stories, do you think developing the plot is the main focus and delving into deep details about the character's description, whether background or deep inner thoughts and narration?

I think plot is more important for a short story. It's the other way for a novel.

If you focus on the character, it will be impossible to keep your book short. That's because a character has so many aspects and details. Also, a plot usually has more impact on readers, so if you want your short story to effectively succeed in grabbing interest, you'll need to focus on making it interesting.

Short story is a slice of a long story. So it does not allow for long descriptions. As per the relevance, a little amount of details can be added either about characters or the plot or both

I feel you cannot have a good story without both.
