Unfortunately I'm also painstakingly shy and really into writing. Also my friends believe cat people are writers. Dont know if there's any truth in that though.

I am a quiet person. Reading expands my thinking and expression.

I myself may find to be quite a quiet person and sometimes expressive also and for me on my point of view I think that authors are more quiter than verbal

I know that I am personally really shy. At 22 years old, most of my friends are going out drinking, and I'm always down to join. But I have noticed over the past couple years (I'm not sure if it was always this bad) that even around people I know fairly well, I can't make eye contact with anyone and I try not to make small talk. Drinking's the only thing that really helps that, but I'm not entirely sure why I'm so uncomfortable around people. However, if you get me started on one of my projects, I'll talk until you have to shut me up.

Quietness is something I find in a lot of creative, imaginative people. I find for me it leaves more space for thinking due to the fact that, personally I'm an introvert. However, those creative, imaginative extroverts are the ones who think out loud. I believe our individuality makes us produce wonderful works and so we celebrate the fact that we may not all be the same in judgement of personality, but we all share the same common passion. Writing. That is the only concluding factor that all writers have in common. Cliche? Maybe.

I am definitely a quiet person, especially around large groups or people I don't know that well. If I'm at home just around family or around one or two close friends I'll talk more, but for the most part I am a listener and an observer. I don't particularly like that I'm so quiet but as much as I try not to be it's just who I am. I don't necessarily think most writers are quiet, but I would say a good portion of them are.

Although I wouldn't be characterized as "quiet", I do like my solitude at times. I'm also a huge fan of listening and watching.

I'm not a quite person when I'm around people. I have lots of ideas floating around in my head constantly. I actually think that I drive people a little batty sometimes. The thing is, I don't like to be around people, and i prefer to write everything that is in my head down. I think this is another attribute most writers have. What do you think?

I am rather an introvert. It has been my biggest problem when ever I venture into the working world. I have trouble making eye contact and the thought of talking and meeting with people I don't know scares me. When I decided to go to my NanoWriMo kick off party at a restaurant I had to ask the people at the table if I was in the right place. At that moment I thought about turning around and leaving. I am glad that I didn't. However when it came to introductions as hard as I tried to make eye contact with people, I just couldn't do it. I drilled a hole in the table with my eye lasers.

Now if I get comfortable around you, you'll think I'm crazy and sometimes never shut up. But not always, most of the time I am more of an observer than a talker.

I am a very quiet person. In fact, I prefer quiet to talking any day. I don't like a lot of noise, either. I agree with you! I think writers are generally deep, intuitive thinkers, and that's not a bad thing at all! :)

I'm not quiet, but not outspoken or loud either. Definitly not an extrovert. More than once the thought of people and socialising bothers me, though I will be friendly with people I already know, or even someone I'm talking to for the first time.

My job has enabled me to master the art of small talk, although I don't know how interesting it is. But when not at work I prefer to be quiet-- I can spend a whole day happily alone, talking only to my dog and cat.
I suppose writers, like any other group, come in all types.

Most of the writers I know are fairly quiet people. I tend to think that it's because it's difficult to write about people if you don't know them, and how do you know them if you don't see how they behave?

I have always enjoyed my quiet time. I use to go for drives by myself all the time. My roommates thought it was weird. I also really enjoyed my commute to work (about an hour). I always could just think without customers or family questioning me. I guess I am a quiet person.

Yes. I've heard my sister say, many times, "You're so quiet." Perhaps I do more observing than I do participating.
