I love the fact that I can provide a service to the greater community. :-)

The challenge. Having to observe carefully, think hard about what I want to say, and use language economically while getting all my points and observations across. I hate verbose reviews.

I love the writing and knowing that I can influence others to read the books. In English it is more difficult for me to write a review, so I have to exert myself more.

Finding new authors and new books that I would, otherwise, have never found or read. There are so many good authors out there whose talents are never found.

In a weird way, through this system, I feel like I'm interacting with the author in a more intimate way, rather than just posting a random review on a large website. Here, it feels as though my feedback is actually being heard, and I like the responsibility of offering my response to the person's hard work!

I like the idea that I could help someone else decide whether or not they want to read the book. Plus it's an excuse to read new books and reread old ones

Like others have said, I like that I can help and influence others to check out a book. And I really enjoy reading so I find that it is a good way to open myself to authors and books I have never heard of.

I love that I get help writers to become the best they can be. Constructive criticism and opinions from another perspective can be so beneficial. I also really love that I get to read all kinds of books, some of which I wouldn't be exposed to otherwise.

As an author myself, I love book reviewing because it gives me the chance to read work from other indie authors. I've found some great stories and I've found some duds. At the same time, getting free books sent to me to give me an idea of what's out there has helped me hone my own craft as well as support some AWESOME peers.

I like the thought that if people chose to read a book based on my recommendations, try get to feel the same happiness you get from a good book that I did.

I like knowing other peoples opinions, discovering new books to read and authors to look in to, and I can get the gist of books that I have wanted to read without needing to research them myself. Sometimes, I read peoples responses and want to read the books without having known about them at all because of the colorful descriptions people give. :D I can't wait to review books myself!

For me its discovering new authors who bring a different perspective from famous and regular writers. Its the only way I can discover new talents, new stories and new ideologies.

I love the excuse to read new books and read from different authors.

But mostly I love reviewing books because just the entire process is magical. You get to connect with the author, the audience, and find out a little bit about yourself as well.

I learn a lot about writing while reviewing. While I'm dissecting another author's work, I can't help but think about my own work in progress. Many times while I'm pointing out how a particular area of an author's work affected me, I realize how I might improve my own.
