Thorough review i'd say. I honestly felt indifferent to the sample that was given. And I'm a little confused as to why it would be told from a 4 year old perspective...as most 4 year olds i know don't focus on writing. Although i can understand the authors want and need to discuss the deep topics and feelings that were mentioned in this review. Grats on botd.

I could easily relate to the scared little boy who is not only locked in the cellar by his elder sister, but seems to be surrounded by both verbal and physical abuse and endless threats and discussions about death. It's no easy task to use the voice of a little boy to tell the story, but John Mitchell does a good job with the narration. Thanks for your review!

The Boy who Lived with Ghost. Just to read a review saying that it will make you appreciate all that you have more after reading about the difficult and heart breaking childhood of John, is a worthy book to read. That, and the very serious themes that mentions. Congratulations on BOTD.

Based on the review I don't think that the book is for me. I don't want to read about child molestation and abuse. The book seems heartbreaking and sad. I will pass on reading this book.

This sounds like it is a good read. I am very interested in paranormal activities. Yet, I also believe that there are different types of ghost one may have not just of them being people who have passed. But, people deal with their own ghosts everyday life in the flesh. I can't wait to read this book. I hope it is as good as it sounds.

The the title captures my attention immediately. I love watching paranormal, and horror movies. According to a review, this is not a horror novel as it seems to be. Still, I am very much interested to read it. To see how the author has depicted the thought process of a child and a young boy. I find it very intriguing. Congrats on BOTD 💐💐👍🏻👍🏻

I was sampling the book and was quite confused at the beggining. Never thought a boy's perspective is so...well, better find this book and read it. Good review.

Ghost stories and paranormal activities are not my cup of tea. The reviewer gave it a perfect rating, so I guess those that find its genre appealing would enjoy the read. Congrats to the author for winning BOTD.

Deeply captivating and compelling. The story is simple yet intriguing and it entails how kids deal with mental breakdown. Everyone can relate to John's experience at one level or another

Thank you for our review. I really appreciate your warning about the heavy content and acknowledgment that the book includes it all in a way that isn't dreary. These are helpful things to know when I'm considering reading a book so that I am mentally prepared for it. The sample I read was enticing and you review solidified my interest!
