Sophie is determined to have her revenge on Domenico Moretti for the death of her parents. She has been working with her uncle to infiltrate Domenico's company and destroy it from the inside. Everything is going to plan, except for pesky emotions that keep stirring every time she is in the same room as him. Worse still, family secrets begin to come to the surface and threaten everything that Sophie has believed her entire life. Will Sophie be able to resist her growing attraction to Domenico? Will her revenge plan work? Check out a copy of Ruined by the Enemy by Broxy Hart to find out.

The primary issue with this book is its pacing. It felt as though there was no buildup before the main conflict. There is a confrontation between Sophie and Domenico almost immediately, before I had a chance to connect with or care about the characters. I personally thought that it painted Sophie in a bad light because I had no idea why she was attempting to destroy his company, as none of her backstory had been established. I wish that Hart had taken the time to develop her character before sending her on the revenge mission. Similarly, I had no reason to want Domenico's company destroyed because a convincing reason had not been explained.

I do feel as though once I got partway into the book, there were some interesting scenes. Hart was able to convincingly portray the struggles that Sophie faced as she attempted to stay on mission while dealing with her growing feelings. The vivid language used helped to bring the emotional beats to life.

I rate this book 2 out of 5 stars. I am taking off three stars due to the above-mentioned issues. While I think the premise has a lot of potential, the pacing issues made it hard to connect to the characters. I find it hard to enjoy books when I am not invested in the characters. Due to the sexual content and strong language, this book is best suited for mature readers. Those who enjoy the enemies-to-lovers trope, romance, and thriller are the target audience. It would appeal to those looking for a quick read; it is shorter in length and could be read in an afternoon or two.
