Review of Five Fathers by Kate Morgan
It's the first book in the Undercover Sinners Trilogy .It's the story of Natalia Petrov ,daughter of Konstatin Petrov Russian Mob boss.It begins on one fated night ,when after her father shoots her lover Kisten in the head ,mid coitus .She leaves hurriedly ,to escape her father's clutches . Her resolution, to get a new lease on life and leave behind all her past sins .In her disheveled state ,a little coked up and bloodied ,she stumbles into the first church she happens upon and declares her desire to become a nun.
Unknowingly to her ,she just walked into a church where five undercover mercenaries are posing as priests .Hawke is group's leader tough and authoritative ,Mace is the killer with a heart ,Arsen is the crazy one whose instability makes him a danger to all, friends and foes alike .Lastly Weston and Colt ,who are the youngest of the of the group.Their mission to kill and take down Konstantin's mafia organization .
Natalia is quickly signed on to be trained and become part of the group .When they discover she could prove valuable to their plot .So much ,for leaving her sins behind .She now becomes the lustful center of these five men sexual desires.Grappling with her own emotional issues , she deals with the past emotional scars left by her father and finding her role within the group.
The development of the story from the beginning is well done ,where the background of both Natalia and the five men is easily explained .Each of the personalities of the men is unique hence each has something that draws them to you .The sex scenes are steamy and descriptive .All of these ,made the book an easy and quick read.
What i disliked about the book ,was the relationship Natalia has with the five men .Being the kind of girl who loves the idea of five men interested in one woman ,this book is a bit of a let down .The romance area is really lacking .Despite the obvious emotional issues Natalia is going through ,the guys are constantly looking past it for their own sexual gratification .Even though she goes along with and enjoys it. You can see ,she replaying her relationship with her father and every man she has encountered .Where she's used like a thing and disregarded.I kept waiting for the wooing to begin ,it never does .
It is a well written erotic romance .Being the author's debut novel she has done a good job. The development of story is easy to follow.I would recommend it to any reader above the age of 18+ interested in the reverse harem genre because ,the rest of the series will be worth a read . The author and her editing team did a great job ,because it doesn't have any glaring errors .But for those seeking romance ,its abit lacking .It's because of this i would rate the book 3 out of 4stars .
