It's really more of a spin on the concept of "fallen angels," but it's the power to fight demons in people's dreams that was new to me.

I agree! The one thing that I enjoyed was the premise, but the timeline does seem off to me--and if this were the case, one major plotline will not make any sense at all. However, I did like it enough to know what happens next. I'm hoping the next book will address these inconsistencies, and if not, then that's that.CommMayo wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 10:32 If done correctly, paranormal books can be really fun to immerse yourself into a completely different world. I find that my enjoyment completely hinges on the ability of the author to create a believable alternate reality that has no plot holes or glaring inconsistencies. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and Moning's Fever series both do that perfectly...I'm not entirely convinced that this is the case with this book. I might be temped to pick it up if it was offered on Kindle Unlimited, but I don't see myself shelling out cash to read it.
I've been holding out on the Black Dagger Brotherhood for a while now. Maybe it really is time to check it out. Thanks, CommMayo!

Thanks for dropping by, Donna! The story does get darker. And more violent. I cannot stress this enough. It's also a romance novel, though. Best not to forget that.DonnaHahn67 wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 10:10 i was okay at first.. until it started getting darker. i love supernatural things.. and this author is a great writer because i had goosebumps while reading it

You can say it sits in that gray area between "Wow, what a unique premise!" and "But wait, something's not right here." If this were a standalone book, it would have been less cohesive--and as a result, less pleasant to read.
Thanks for commenting, qsusan!
