How would you explain love to someone who has yet to experience it? Love is a combination of magical emotions and a collection of memories that you share with a special person. Mumbo Jumbo… I Love You by Kewayne Wadley follows a person’s journey through love and its ups and downs. Using amazing verses and powerful illustrations, I got to experience love through the author’s eyes, and even those suffering from a broken heart will feel hope again. As the author puts it, even if it makes no sense, all we can say is: I love you.

The book is constructed in the same way a movie is and is supposed to evoke the same feelings as going to the cinema, which is something I enjoyed, as I had never seen something similar done in a book. The author introduced the poems, not in the typical way but as “now presenting,” like the new movies the cinema is showing. In the end, we also have credits and special thanks instead of, for example, an acknowledgment. Overall, the whole concept behind the book is original and easy to enjoy; the author poured their whole heart into it.

Some of the poems I liked the most include “Nothing Left,” a poem that talks about wishing for love and hoping to find it even if it takes everything from us. I also enjoyed “Favorite Place to Hide,” a poem that talks about loving someone the same way we love being inside our home, a place where we can be safe and real. Some of the other poems I enjoyed were “Nothing But Space,” “Apocalypse Her,” “Angel and a Corona,” and “InTo OrbIt”.

There is nothing negative I can say about Mumbo Jumbo… I Love You, this is the perfect book for everyone who loves love. Overall, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The book has been professionally edited, is completely free from errors, and is suitable for readers of all ages. The illustrations add so much to the book and the emotions; the verses perfectly portray how it feels to be in love.

I recommend this book to everyone who just loves love, poetry enthusiasts, or those who have recently broken up and are feeling that they should give up on love.
