Quadruplets with different magical powers would be four times the fun, I suppose. The sample focused on Asha, the fire handler, and the pages were indeed aflame. What would the other sisters bring into the picture with their air (cyclones?), water (deluges?) and earth (quakes?) powers? I am intrigued no end.

The writing was excellent, but overall I found this story dark and disturbing. Both witches and master seemed a tad too demonic for my tastes.

I decided to take the plunge and give this one a try, even though this is not my preferred genre. I like the idea of 4 sisters coming together for the 1st time since birth, each having her own special power. I enjoyed the video trailer on Amazon, too. You guys should check it out! Here is the link in case anyone is interested. :-)

What an excellent concept! I loved the sample, appreciating that the four ‘superhero’ protagonists are female, for starters, and while they are individually amazing, the richness of their capabilities is unveiled as they work together. I applaud the author for utilising earth, water, wind and fire as their powers, and therefore names.
I am intrigued by your comment that greater depth would have improved the story, and am keen to continue reading to discover whether I agree or have a different opinion :)

The lack of development into specifics about the sisters makes me a bit wary but it sounds like the plot is rather enjoyable. As stated it seems like this would be a light read which is always nice.

From the sample it did seem more driven by the movement of the plot rather than delving deeply into the characters and world. Which, sometimes is precisely what you're looking for. The sample was fairly enjoyable, it seemed like it might be a fun, if not deep, read. I always enjoy a review with an eye for if a book has entertainment value for certain tastes.

The plot, judging from the review is a great one and each of the girls are likable with their unique personalities. However, I am not a fantasy reader but it would be a good book to checkout.

I was riveted reading the prologue! I am excited to add this to my list. I'm wondering-do the sisters understand their control of the elements right away or is their learning/training involved?

Thanks for your review; judging by your analysis, together with the free sample on Amazon, I thing you're probably right in saying that "this book will surely appeal to fans of light fantasy novels with mild familial and romantic themes" –– at least in the case of readers who do not like depth or complexity. For me personally, your comment that "there isn’t a great deal of depth to the world the author has created" is damning: I will not buy this book. But I'm sure many people will enjoy it.

'Official Review: Unbalanced', by Courtney Shepard, encourages the merits of a good writer, by giving the book, a fair rating!

Unbalanced is somewhat similar to the stories of men and women with superpowers that I have come across on TV or film. I could recall
Wolverine, Storm, the guys of the TV series about mutants. It is fascinating how these characters cope up with their freak attributes in order to do good. In this novel, Unbalanced I would have added delight in reading how the girls stumble upon each other after some time of separation. This is going to be an interesting read. Thank you for your interesting review.

This review is very helpful. The story seems interesting. I usually stay away from romance novels. However, you mention that it has a light romantic theme, I suppose it should be fine. I look forward to reading this book.
Great review, by the way!

This seems really interesting, I normally don't go for romance, but this seems like it may be better than the average romance, if fun powers are involved. :) Might have to check this one out.

The relationship between the girls seems very interesting, I'd be curious to know about their backstory. Its a shame about the world-building but then again, I suppose it would be difficult to have a very deep, intricate world with four protagonists to also develop at the same time! Definitely interested in the book, and altogether a very good review! :tiphat:
