Taken - A Many Lives Story by Laxmi Hariharan is a romance story about two people who found love in a difficult situation. The book focuses on the main two characters, Jai and Ariana, who faces many challenges and troubles in their relationship.

The first main character is Jai, the only son of the Mayor. He is also called the “Guardian of the City” and he is responsible for protecting the city and the survivors after what his mother did. His job brought meaning to his life because he was forced to push himself all the time, mentally, physically, and emotionally. He also owned a sword which belongs to Queen Catherine. As the descendant of the queen, his blood has the capacity to trigger the power of the sword.

The second character is Ariana. She is a refugee and not from the city. She is taken to the refugee camp known as the “jungle”. She is a fighter and has a strong personality in this story. She also saved Jai’s life once from the shifters. She has given a mission by the General to steal the sword which belongs to Jai. She sneaks into Jai’s place and she barters herself to persuade him to let her stay in his place. If she fails then her sister will die.

While reading the book, I fell in love with these two heart-warming characters. I really enjoyed and was carried away with the story. The love between Jai and Ariana was deep and sweet which keeps me reading and turning to the next page. Jai and Ariana are good examples of an ideal couple. They did not stop loving each other even though they separated for a long time because of their complicated situation.

The book has everything a reader would look for. It has romance, action, adventure, family ties, betrayal, and heroine story/ character. Readers will surely enjoy and won’t stop reading the book until the end. The book is also well-written by the author and easy to understand. This book Taken - A Many Lives Story is really great to read and full of intrigue. Furthermore, I look forward to read the other series of this book.

I rate the book Taken - A Many Lives Story 4 out of 4 stars. I congratulate the author for producing such an amazing book. I highly recommend the book for those readers who are looking into romance, adventure, and action.

Love is not gauged by merely having each other every day. Admittedly, I'm not fond of reading this genre but reading this very captivating story has brought me to what is the true essence of love. I just really admired the two characters (Jai and Ariana) for what they've done; they have shown a deep sense of responsibility to each other which should always be the mantra of any relationship.

I enjoyed reading your review. The book cover turns me off though because it suggests that the romance is taken to the level where it is literary porn.

I agree with you about the cover but when you read the book, it has only few mature content. The book talks more about life and relationship..:)
