Hey thanks for the honest review! It is disappointing to read a book that has some good elements like: humor, character development, & you're able to relate to the character; but then you have to reread pages to follow the story. Good job on the review.

Congrats to the author on BOTD!

From your review, it does seem that it falls more on self-discovery and personality development instead of romance. Randy Love is an interesting character. Thank you for such an honest review!

This book talks about à boy who his father fears he may drop out of school before complétion but he reassures his dad that he Will not. Randy shows some responsibility as he takes his own appartement, looks for a job and rejects Mary's seduction. I love The book and Will love to get to The end.

The Official Review of the novel Randy Love...at your service provides a meaningful summary of the book.
The major theme of the book is self discovery and personality development rather than romance. Accordingly, it suggests comedy. Though the secondary characters in the book confuse the main theme.

I read the sample pages and I agree with the score given by the reviewer. The author had a good intention of presenting the life of a young man, in a state of confusion but the pages are dragging. Randy's life is dragging. Still, this book could still be useful to teens who are caught in a maze.

I'm glad I read your review. I have been contemplating reading this book and its nice to have more information. I'm glad to know that you don't consider it a straight romance book. I just read a book like that recently.

The sample meanders around without quite grabbing my interest; I am not sure what this book is about. The main character, Randy Love is the youngest son of 3, born much later than his older sister and brother. Some details goes into describing his siblings; this might be important for later in the book, but in the sample it seems irrelevant. Randy is in college though he seems to be taking some time out and, as of the end of the sample, just found a job. He described his skills in the job interview as someone who can do a bit of everything, and then says he can "pull pints, make sandwiches, wash up, serve food", though for a moment after asked, it seemed like he was going to count his sexual prowess as a skill. Randy comes off as not a very driven character and I was surprised that he got the job.
I don't see myself buying or reading this book.

I think you rated it higher than I did. I gave it 1 star because it was hardly bearable. I contemplated hitting the "I don't want to finish reading this" button. However, my mother didn't raise a quitter so I weathered through it.

I had similar feelings about it but my main problem was that I didn't like Randy. While there's nothing wrong with that in general, it felt like the book was trying too hard to make me like him. That being said, it really was a funny book and I keep wondering what his life after the ending would be like. How would he and Nicky cope?
