Angela is a young angel who is eagerly awaiting graduation. She is expecting to earn her wings and become a guardian angel when she learns that she failed horribly on the graduation exam and will not receive her wings. After causing a bit of destruction, she is given a choice: clean up in dog heaven or go to Earth and save souls. Though Angela dislikes humans and knows little about them, she decides that a trip to Earth is the better option. There she decides she is going to save Dickie Beasley. He is a gambler, a ladies man, and generally seems to be a hopeless case. Will Angela succeed and earn her wings? Find out in Angel Wings by C. B. Anthony.

Angela's character was my favorite part of this book. When she was dropped down to Earth, she knew almost nothing about customs or even the English language. Her dialogue was filled with malapropisms, and the other characters thought she was either an alien or from a foreign country because she was so clueless as to what was happening. For example, in one scene she is unable to figure out how to use a sink. This added a layer of humor to the book, which I greatly enjoyed.

My one disliked was the writing style. The language was extremely straightforward, and I would have appreciated a slightly higher level of detail with the descriptions. I also thought that, apart from Angela, the characters were a little forgettable. I think this is also related to the lack of detail.

Overall, I give Angel Wings 3 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed the overall plot and the character of Angela. The writing style is the major drawback, in my opinion, and is the reason I am taking off two stars. However, I do believe that it was professionally edited, as I only noticed one minor error. I believe that those looking for a romance that includes supernatural beings and humor would enjoy this book. The book does not contain explicit content, so it is suitable for both adults and teens. It is a quick read and is sure to leave you laughing!
