Review for Once Upon A One Night Stand by D.N. Hoxa

This is a work of Fictional Romance. I give this novel a 4 out of 4 star rating.

I can't even begin to explain how amazing this entire novel was. Within the first few paragraphs I was hooked! Early in the first chapter you find out about these 5 best friends and London, the main character that we follow through the novel, happens to be having a birthday. Through reading this novel, I found myself quite jealous of the LOVER group, they are all extremely tight knit and always there for each other at the drop of a hat.

You go into the novel thinking she's going to be with one man and come out thinking ‘Wow! That blew me away!’ however, the overall basis of the story is surprise. What really got me though was the character progression of our main character. She goes from this completely shy and quiet ‘mouse’ to an outright bold woman. Through her ‘inner selves’ we see different parts of her emotions and brain working together but mostly just being ignored but as we go further, or she gets drunk, they stop getting shut out and get let out instead.

As far as the conflicts go through the novel, there are plenty. It's a romance novel, so of course there's going to be PLENTY of drama and it definitely does not skimp out on it. However, my personal favorite thing about this novel is that it keeps you on your toes. Most romance stories can be predictable and dull and more than less amusing. I just can't explain my joy when I read this and I had no idea what was coming next.

There were times when I hated the love interests and there were others when I caught myself falling in love with the character myself. There are a few things that I found redundant through the story and overly repetitive but not enough to make me not like that aspect of the novel. The parts that are repetitive lead up to part of the climax and then it makes more sense as to why she added it into the work. I don't want to go into too much detail because I don't want to give anything away! Though, If you do decide to read this be prepared for lots of drama, sex and horny women!

In conclusion, the author’s writing style reminds me a lot of Sylvia Day’s, and I'm quite a fan of her work. I definitely can not wait for the next one in her series.

This sounds like my kind of book! I agree that romance books are often extremely predictable. It'd great that this one isn't. I'll have to add it to my list!
