Review of Mumbo Jumbo... I Love You
Love, they say, is a beautiful thing. When we are in love with the right person, we live in heaven on earth.
The book, Mumbo Jumbo... I Love You, authored by Kewayne Wadley, is a collection of poems that beautifully captures the various moments that shape our lives. The verses delve into the complex nature of love, exploring its exhilarating highs and daunting lows. Through the adept use of poetic devices and imagery, the author creates a work that resonates universally. This anthology makes for a thoughtful gift, suitable for those who appreciate poetic beauty. It offers a deep exploration of the profound emotions tied to love, rendering it an enchanting addition to any book collection.
Mumbo Jumbo I Love You by Wayne is an anthology that contains 46 poems. Now Showing opens the poems, and it serves as a sort of menu. It is like you are at the cinema, and you have the list of movies shown for the day. This creativity gave me initial excitement about what I was about to read, and, I must say, I wasn't disappointed.
Apocalypse Her expresses the feelings of someone truly in love. Lost The Remote Again!? emphasizes how vulnerability would boost love in a relationship. Fire Alarm gives the vibe of someone who understands what their partners go through daily. Nothing, Can't Sleep, Favourite Place To Hide, and Nothing But Space are all poems that resonate with me personally. All the poems are relatable, as they are things we have experienced at least once in our lives. In fact, there are several pick-up lines you can get from the book. For example, 'I keep in the dark. Her heart; The sun that welcomes me Into a new day'.
Wadley's poetic expression is a true delight. The use of metaphors, other poetic devices, and vivid imagery adds depth to each poem, immersing readers in a dreamlike state where emotions are palpable. The author's keen observation of everyday occurrences transforms ordinary moments into extraordinary revelations. It's evident that Wadley possesses a deep understanding of human emotions, skillfully translating them into verses that resonate on a personal level.
One of the standout aspects of Mumbo Jumbo... I Love You is its ability to explore both the light and shadows of love. The poems vary from whimsical expressions of desire to introspective musings on self-doubt. The recurring theme of love's nature runs through the book, giving readers a glimpse into the author's own exploration of its complexities. There are illustrations that further enhance the effects of the poetic tools employed by the poet. These illustrations elevated the emotions of the readers, and it's one of the important highlights of the book. However, because of these illustrations, it limited the audience to only adults.
I found no errors while reading this, and because of its relativity, creativity, and other reasons I stated earlier, I will rate this anthology 5 out of 5 stars. I found nothing to dislike about the book.
Kewayne Wadley's Mumbo Jumbo... I Love You is a captivating anthology that will resonate with a wide range of readers. Lovers of poetry will appreciate the author's skillful use of language and imagery, while those seeking an exploration of the human experience will find a treasure trove of emotions within its pages. This collection is an excellent choice for hopeless romantics, introspective souls, and anyone who appreciates the power of words to convey the depth of their emotions.
