A Billionaire Romance: A Hard Bargain by Jennifer King is a recently released novel in the erotic romance genre. It is a short contemporary romance story based in New York. Beware, this book is packed with sexual content.

Linda Sterling is the head of an on-line gossip blog, The Pulse. She launched the blog three years ago and has made it into a very popular blog with a large worldwide readership. She is a woman with an intelligent and anticipative mind and her authority tends to command attention everywhere she goes. She is a power-show in her own right. Her sexual appeal is also off the charts and she knows how to flaunt it. Men everywhere want to be with her.

John Callan is the very rich CEO of the media conglomerate, The Callan Group. He was a stickler for success and now he wanted LInda: both professionally and in his bed. He brings up a merger between the two companies.

The two realize that work and their professions are not the only thing they want to tie them together. When they meet and sparks fly, will they give into their sexual desires and let them rule their professional lives or will they let their brilliant minds rule? And what happens to everyone else when they decide?

What I especially liked about this book is the descriptive style employed by Jennifer King in writing. Characters, scenes, events and thoughts are depicted with imagery and content such that it leaves vivid images and ideas in one's mind. It is definitely a unique style of writing. She uses sexual innuendos throughout the book instead of direct references to sexual activity. It makes for a comical take and makes the book perfect for those innocent at heart.

Linda is portrayed as a go-getter who knows what she wants and is not afraid to get it. She is in charge of her life and does not leave anyone else to dictate it, let alone write about it. She maintains responsibility for her life and does not seem to care about others' opinion of her. Linda knows what her audience for the blog wants and she knows exactly how to give it to them. She is even ready to air her sexual activities by her own hand on her blog just as long as she stays ahead in the game of on-line gossip blogging. She owns her sexuality and she is ready to flaunt and air it to the world.

John is like the yin to Linda's yan. His character is a that of a wealthy CEO and he fits the quota of all billionaire men: handsome and well-built - check, oozing sexual appeal - check, a tease - check, gets what he wants - check, arrogant - check. Really, who wouldn't want him? Definitely not the women around him.

The lives of basically all the characters of this book in one way or another revolve around sexual activities. They may not let it affect their professions, but they don't keep it locked away either. Whether at home, in cabs or at work, they explore it fully. What's more, they feel no shyness or embarrassment over it. Sexual activity is part of their lives and they are not afraid to enjoy it.

This quality of characters that Jennifer King embedded in her book leads to a high level of eroticism in the novel and combined with her descriptive style of writing, the innuendos and the quite original script lead up to a highly captivating read. It is an ideal book for the erotic romance genre.
The suspense employed at the conclusion of the book just makes you want more. I will be highly anticipating the release of the next book in the series.

The book would have been perfect except that it was too short. This was the only thing I found wanting about the book. Just when it was getting even better, it ended. Otherwise it would have the perfect curl-on-the-couch read.

I give this book a 4 out of 4 rating.
It is definitely a must-read for all those interested in the genre.

I like books that feature smart, tough and independent women and Linda Sterling seems just like that kind of woman. This book sounds really interesting. I'll check this out right now. Great job on the review. Congratulations to Jennifer King.
