Fifty-one-year-old Evelyn O'Donnell was devastated after her husband, George, left her for another woman after 27 years of marriage. She quickly realized that her marriage was not one of equality. She had always been treated as a housekeeper, cook, and babysitter, while her husband drove a better car and had better clothes than her. The day her divorce was granted at the Royal Courts of Justice, she met Barrister Edward C. Thompson. Edward had divorced his cheating wife and lived only for his work. Will Evelyn get over her first marriage and divorce? Can she start over at her age? Will Barrister Thompson be the man she deserves, who will love and respect her, always putting her first? Read Barrister Thompson Unlatched: Part One Life is not meant to be lived alone. Only through sharing does one find true love and happiness by P. Bellamy and see if Evelyn and Edward find true love in their golden years.

P. Bellamy has done an excellent job developing the characters and showing the differences between the York and London residences. Each character had a role to play and was essential to the story, regardless of their social standing. Unlike many erotic romances, this one has a suspenseful plot surrounding the election of England's prime minister, providing relief from the erotic scenes. The author thoughtfully included recipes for making cassoulet and bouillabaisse, which I will try. I enjoyed learning about Edith Wharton's novels. The author separated correspondence from the rest of the text using italics. This book has many valuable lessons for women who are being taken advantage of by narcissistic husbands.

Although this book has many positive aspects, it does have its flaws. This book lacks professional editing, and there is some repetition throughout the narrative. The book contains too much alcohol consumption that started first thing in the morning and went all day. I was disappointed that the ending left certain events hanging. However, this book is only Part One, which means I will watch for future books by this author.

Overall, the positive aspects outweighed the negatives and personal preferences, and I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars. Heavy drinking may be the norm for wealthy Europeans and other individuals, so deducting a star for this would be unfair, and it is normal for books in a series to leave readers hanging, so they will buy the next book. Therefore, the only justification for removing a star was the number of errors and the small amount of repetition in the book.

Mature audiences who enjoy reading romance books with erotic content and non-borderline profanity are the ones I recommend this book to. The characters believe in Catholic principles and morals and have icons of Christ in their homes, so if this type of content is offensive to you, you may want to avoid this book.
