This was a great version of the story. In the original I thought he was very intimidating, and very scary. But in this version from his point of view I felt that I saw right through his "tough guy exterior" and saw the vulnerable, scared man that he was.

I mean it was totally see through to me how he wanted unconditional love from a woman but was scared. The things he did was because he was scared. It was a front that he put on for so long. And he was being soft with Anastasia because he knew she fixed him. Or could fix him.

I loved how you also, I don't know if saw is the right word, but because I saw a lot of visuals in this book I'm going to say that. I saw his nightmares, I saw the flashbacks of his teen years with "Mrs.Robinson." (Sorry for those who haven't read the books yet I won't go into detail), the way she took his innocence. It made me cry.

To know that the man build his empire from not facing his past, but his control from "Mrs.Robinson" is horrible. And also the way he chooses his women. It is sickening.

I loved getting to Christian from Christian, because the suspense isn't killing or torturing you that much. It was amazing. And when I read the excerpt that EL James gave in the back of the third novel, made me hope she would put a novel out their to get the full insight from his point of view. I hope she makes the last two in his view. Because if I read a story and I can get mad, sad, feel what any character is feeling and relate to actual show a fictional characters emotion. That makes one heck of a good story. From zero-five stars, I give it "Fifty".

smut. In my opinion its soft porn. In my novel some people said it was soo much for a young adult novel. They barely kissed. LOL.

It did have alot of kink in the book. It made me a bit uneasy because I was not aware going in the level this story would do too. I have the audible book so it was not something I had to read; never the less it was uneasy listening because of thebsubject matter. I did however like the emotional ties between the main character, but the roller coaster aspects was a little much.

I bought the book but didn't actually get around to reading it yet. A few friends who read it didn't really say that they loved the book so I'm not really sure what to think yet. I'll have to get around to reading soon, hopefully. lol

I don't know if i'll ever read this. Was amused to see a normal looking couple both get individual copies from a popular high street retailer.

I have read the other books and the erotica of it doesn't bother me but I don't think I could read this book, the other books weren't that great in my opinion.

I didn't like this book. For me it ruined the other 3. Not quite decided if I didn't like seeing him in a different light, or if it was something else. Couldn't even finish it, yet I read the others straight through in days multiple times.

I've read the entire series twice and I just really have no interest in the authors writing from the other characters POV. I feel it is a retelling that I get bored with and ultimately feel like it is a way for them to ride the money train. I respect that the author probably feels compelled to give that side of the story, but as a reader....WE GOT IT. Same story, different speaker. There are so many other books I want to read in this lifetime that "ain't nobody got time for that." Or maybe after reading it the second time.. the book lost its initial shine and Christians perspective likely wasn't going to do it for me. Now had I read his POV before reading the 50 series for the second time..... I might have a different stance on the matter.

I have a had difficulty getting into the original series. However, I did enjoy this book because it was told from his pov. But I think it was overboard.

I thought it was interesting having it from his point of view. For me it answered some questions that made me curious about from the original.

Personally, I LOVE reading a series with the different points of view! Kind of gives you the complete picture of what's going on in the story. Even though this series can get a bit "intense", I love these books!

I loved this book. Seeing the other side of the story was what the readers wanted who loved the first 3. Personally, I loved seeing the vulnerable side of Christian Grey!

I really really loved this book and was so happy and excited to finally get to read it. It was so wonderful to read about his side of the story. About how he struggled, his fears, and how he fell in love with Anastasia.

It was so sweet how he cared for her. How he showed his love for her. How he loved surprisingly with all the gifts. The classic books, helicopter ride, clothes, computer and car.

I really enjoyed the emails they wrote to each other. I would enjoy reading this book again.

I anticipate E. L. James to make a more in depth perception from Mr. Grey himself for the following two books of the trilogy. I love the concept of damaged goods and the use of sex being his dependent. Well written and kudos to Mrs. James for changing the reading world of erotica!
