Review of Perfect.
Perfect. by D. D. Larsen is an intriguing story. Seryna is an eighteen-year-old girl. Typically, her age bracket is characterized by fun, crazy mistakes, and teenage exuberance. However, Seryna is not a typical teenager. She is extremely calculated. Everything seems like a competition to her. Living in the moment is not her thing; she always plans her actions and overthinks issues. This makes her appear as the least exciting among her friends.
One day, against her will, she is "dragged" to a party. Having had much to drink, her male friend almost rapes her. She is saved by a "mystery man". No one else at the party sees the "mystery man". She begins to doubt her senses. Soon, she gets to communicate with this strange being. Kieran works with the FBI. He is investigating the production of a harmful alcoholic drink. Seryna is hopelessly in love with a man whose mission is to bring down her family. Known to properly evaluate matters, Seryna is surprisingly found following her emotions. How bad can this get?
This was one of the moments I felt I had "invested" my time properly by reading a romance novel. Every minute was worth it. The author deserves an award for how excitingly suspenseful this book was. I enjoyed the storyline, and I had a great time reading this book. I liked that the beginning of this book already had me captivated. The way Kieran was introduced was amazing. I kept wanting to read more about him. Also, this book was so relatable. I had to check if the author was a young adult. It was exciting the way she embodied the emotions of young adults. The reckless abandon and youthful exuberance had me reminiscing on my teenage days. The way the author narrated the opposing feelings Seryna had was just exciting to see. I felt like I knew Serena.
I enjoyed the way the story unfolded. Seryna considered herself unworthy of the attention of her male friends. She felt unwanted. However, when Kieran came into her life, he became everything that any girl her age wanted. It was funny to see her go from zero to a hundred. From having a boring life, Seryna seems to have all the thrills of romance. However, this exciting man seems to be plotting the downfall of her family. I liked how I found myself in a dilemma. Who was Seryna going to believe? Her family had been there for her for eighteen years. However, Kieran steps into her life. Within a short period, he makes her feel things she hadn't felt in eighteen years. The details of the romance were explicit; it was fun to see how believable the romantic scenes were. I commend the author's imagination.
I think it might have been better if the ending was stretched out a bit. It was not rushed, but the pace seemed faster than the initial and middle sections. Apart from this, I felt this book was perfect. This book was professionally edited. I only came across a few errors. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I already look forward to reading more books written by the author.
This is a highly erotic book. I recommend it to a mature audience. If you find sexual fetishes unpleasant, this is not a book for you. Readers of romance novels should enjoy reading this book.
