Lily’s life began with hardship and heartbreak. She spent the entirety of her life a house slave for a plantation owner after being sold away from her mother. As she grew, she became friends with the youngest son of her master, James. Their friendship flourished until Jesse, Lily’s master found out and made sure that James treated Lily as he thought she should be treated. After growing up and going to college to become a doctor, James came back to his home and caught Lily playing his dead mothers piano. He talked his father into letting him take her to a ‘breeder’ and soon left with Lily. Once they got to where they were going she found out that she was being taken to a famous pianist. Then began her incredible journey towards becoming a sensational artist of music and also falling in love, however, she has many obstacles she must navigate.

As you read The Prodigy Slave, Book One: Journey to Winter Garden by Londyn Skye you will be thrust into a world of heartbreak and happiness. You will feel the emotions of the characters as though they were your own. You will feel the fear, the love, the uncertainty of the known and the unknown for Lily and others like her. You will meet incredible people and witnesses incredible things and you will have your heart broken and mended and broken time and time again. You will wonder how anyone would possibly have the capacity to own another human being. You will witness a woman’s journey to greatness through the fields of hatred. Reading The Prodigy Slave, Book One: Journey to Winter Garden I felt every emotion down to my core.

I rate The Prodigy Slave, Book One: Journey to Winter Garden by Londyn Skye 4 out of 4 stars for the way Londyn Skye conveys feeling with every word she writes in this beautiful story. She ensures that the reader will feel every feeling that Lily does. The Prodigy Slave, Book One: Journey to Winter Garden was wonderfully written with no mistakes.

If you enjoy romance mixed with heartbreak and watching a character grow emotionally then you will undoubtedly enjoy this book. However, if you’re looking for a quick read this book will not be for you as it’s a continuous saga. Be advised there are numerous profanity and racial slurs along with sexual content. It is a wonderful long story with plenty to love.
