Time Is Eternity is written by Annette G. Anders. It is the story of Josephine and Luca, two young adults who have been friends since high school. Luca and Jo still share a lot of time together. Jo is a yoga instructor and Luca is a successful journalist. Although both are very busy with their jobs in New York, they always find time to spend together. They have developed a close friendship over the years and do not seem to have any secrets from each other. The story takes place in different cities such as New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. Jo and Luca have other friends who play an important part in their lives. The reader will follow Jo and Luca as they progress through life. They will both experience moments of happiness. They will also go through periods of immense pain and grief. This is a story of friendship, love, honesty, cruelty and deceit. It is mainly the story of two close friends looking to find their way in life.

The main characters in the story are Jo and Luca. Jo is an athletic young woman who has a passion for yoga. Her dream is to have her own yoga studio and to be a successful yoga instructor. She is fiercely independent and ambitious. She is also compassionate, concerned for the environment and the people in it. Despite being in her early thirties, she appears naïve and does not see how people could want to harm her. At times, her lack of judgement will cause her hardship. Luca is a successful journalist who has earned his share of recognition in the competitive world of news and journalism. Luca has a passion for writing. He loves poetry. Despite not wanting to enter a long-term relationship, he is a romantic at heart. His favourite poet is Henry Van Dyke. Luca is described as a person of great integrity, loyalty and trustworthiness. However, Luca has difficulty in deciding what he really wants in life. The other characters in the story are Revan and Naomi. Naomi is Jo’s cousin. Naomi and Jo are close to each other. They share many secrets. Stella and David are also very good friends to Jo and Luca. Finally, George is a client at Jo’s gym. He will want to get close to Jo.

The story is very well written and it is well edited. The style flows and the story is easy to follow. It is written in the third person and focuses mainly on Jo and Luca’s lives. The author describes their thoughts and how they deal with life. It is easy to warm to the main characters as they are both warm and empathic. The romantic title is inspired by one of Luca’s favourite poems. The story felt relevant with reference to the pandemic and how it affected peoples’ lives.

I enjoyed the story. It was fresh and romantic. Some of the storylines were predictable but there were unexpected events that the reader could not foresee. This kept the story interesting. I loved the two main characters because they were full of charm and spontaneity. I admired their ambition and passion in life. Furthermore, their insecurities and fragility made the reader warm to them even more. It was nice to see how a close friendship could bring so much happiness in life. It is a good reminder that we should all try and keep good relationships with our friends. I liked the fact that the characters progressed in life, and finally decided what path to take. I also enjoyed the romance and the reference to poetry. I think this book will appeal to readers who like romantic stories. However, there is adult content. Therefore, it is not recommended to young readers.

There is nothing I disliked about the book. It was a good story, well written, and full of romance. The author could have added a little more about Luca’s family background. However, this is a very small detail. I rate the book four out of four stars.
