Review of Future Plans

[Following is a volunteer review of "Future Plans" by Stacy Lee.]
Future Plans by Stacy Lee is an incredible book that follows the journey of a single mother, Hazel, and her daughter, Ellie. Hazel and Ellie live a good life and Hazel is a successful business owner, and in one day everything flips, and one of their lives is now at stake. Tragedy strikes and Hazel has to think and put puzzle pieces of her whole life together to try and figure out the best course of action for the both of them. While dealing with all of this, she also finds potential love but, like a lot of people, she is scared of being hurt. You get to see how she overcomes all of the obstacles in her life with her daughter, the good, the bad, and the worse.
This book is so incredibly detailed. While reading, it felt as though I was looking at what the characters were seeing. I felt what the characters were feeling. The character descriptions were descriptive and very well detailed. Everything that happened was like a movie in my head with no blank space because it was so well written. I also loved the way that the chapters changing, are different character perspectives. It gave a whole new element to the book. It was like right when I was curious about what another character was feeling, the chapter changed and I got to be inside their head.
The only negative thing that I would say, is that at the very beginning, when there were character changes, I was very confused on how they correlated. It was almost as though I was reading separate books. But, at the end everything came together beautifully and it could not have been written any better!
I give this book a 4 out of 4 stars. I was feeling some sort of emotion throughout the entire book. There was never a dull moment, or a moment that got boring. It was like there was constantly something that was making me smile, or cry, or scared for the characters. The pictures that Stacy Lee paints with words, are like a movie that you’re watching in your head.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a love story, a thriller, or heartwarming story. This book could be for anyone who enjoys a book that has all sorts of angles and surprises. Future Plans is truly packed with everything a good book entails. I can not wait to read more from Stacy Lee!
