Re: The Black Dagger Brotherhood

I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I love all of the brothers but I think my favorite character would have to be a tie between Vishous and Rhage. I adore their books. I also really love Zsadist because of everything he overcame and all he was willing to do to be "worthy" of Bella & of course how cute he is with Nalla.

That is a hard question! All the books are great. BUT if I had to choose one, it would probably be Lover At Last. J.R Ward really dropped a lot of tidbits and reveals along the way and made the anticipation notch go up for me. I can't wait for her spin-off series with the brothers and the training facilities. She knows that her fans want to see more of the brothers, their shellans and just MORE of the brothers everyday activities. If you haven't heard, take a look at her facebook. She revealed it a week or two ago. Really excited!

zsadist by far! I really like this series, however I do not like M/M. It does nothing for me, so I have not read the series in it's entirety. I love the world building, and how the males were so gentle and loving with their females. There is a fine art to maintaining the badass reputation of the male while still showing the love they have for their females.

Love love love this seriea! I feel in love with thsee books the moment I started reading Book 1! While I love all the characters I would have to say Beth is my favorite, with Zadist and John as a tie for second.

Can't get enough of this series! J.R. Ward is fantastic. Z is hands down my favorite, but they are all excellent. The King was really good and I know The Shadows comes out in a month (03/31/15). I read something that says it contains big news about the pregnancy in The Shadows!! Can't Wait!!

Ok point made. I need to read The King asap. I just have so many R2R to finish and I'm a beta reader for a few authors, so I don't get much time to read for me anymore. I need to make time though, I really want to know what is going on in this spectacular world!

I've heard about this series for a long time and been waiting patiently for it to be available at the library because, I'm cheap. So, I don't know if maybe I've waited too long to read it and it's now been overhyped for me or what, but Dark Lover was only okay to me. It actually took me a little while to finish it because I just didn't care. Which is weird, because it seems like this book should have been right up my alley. And seeing that the other books in the series are pretty much just the same plot but with different brothers does nothing to make me want to keep reading them.

The side story with Marissa and her brother Havers drove me crazy. It was completely pointless and only served to irritate me because the misunderstanding between them was one of those things that could have been cleared up with two sentences.

I will say that my interest is slightly piqued that a lot of people say Zsadist is their favorite brother. So now I'm curious about his story. But overall there's a pretty low chance that I'll be continuing this series.

I am a huge fan of this series. I always described it to my friends as "Twilight" meets "50 Shades" on Viagra! To me, I loved getting to know each brother and loved how they bonded with each other to make up their crazy but erotic family! In the first books I read everything but going deeper into the series, I am not going to lie, I skipped a little over the lessening society parts because I really just wanted to know about the brothers and the romance part of the story line but over all the series is amazing! I can't wait for "The Shadows" to be released and dive into the mysterious brothers and their background. Because up until this point we don't know much about them or where they came from! I also can't wait for Layla to finally get her chance at love too! Great books Ward, keep them coming!

I definitely love this series for a lot of reasons. Usually when you read a romance, the end is the end even if it is a part of a series, they never get past the honeymoon phase. I haven't actually gotten to the last couple of them because I am a working college student, but seeing some of the characters (I don't want to spoil, so I won't name names) have their relationships on the rocks even as romance blooms for others and having to suffer through them working it out brings a "realism" to the dynamic that you almost never get in books these days although Nicole Williams does a great job of it in her drama filled romance sets. The guys are definitely all hot and their bad boy auras which hide broken pasts are just the kind of stuff I love to read. The ideological problems that the characters have to work through as they try and balance ancient traditions with their need for justice and happy endings also really make me think, which is very much appreciated. If I just wanted mindless sexy fiction, I would pick up some erotica. I agree that the line between the two needs to be way better defined. I seriously found Lori Foster in the erotica section of a bookstore once and nearly died laughing it was so ridiculous since her stories are sexy but still tame and sweet with tons of focus on the relationship.

Rehvenge is by far and away my favorite character. The book size deceived, and I just couldn't put it down, so by the time I finished reading it all in one sitting, it was four in the morning and I had to get ready for class and try to stay coherent all day, but it was totally worth it. He has this amazing bad boy vibe combined with moments of utter vulnerability that reminds of my second favorite character, Z, and because I love him so much, I kind of hate Ehlena for her behavior in the first part of the book, but I forgave her after much brooding.
