Lost and Love: Thailand (Book One of the Lost and Love Series) is a gripping erotic love story with a sucker punch twist. It will compel you to laugh, cry and cause you to hold your breath until the last word.
Savannah is in a rut. She dislikes her job at a call center. Her marriage has lost its spark, and she feels stuck in life. She spots a poster for winning a trip overseas at her job and thinks that traveling might represent a piece in her life that's missing. When she brings up the idea of a vacation in Thailand, her husband Johnny isn't too thrilled but agrees to her idea.
Savannah's best friend Pam suggests reigniting the spark between the married couple. To achieve that, she assists Savannah to purchase lingerie to spice up their vacation. Carefully packing her goodies in her suitcase, Savannah realizes she doesn't know what to expect or even what Johnny would ideally want in the bedroom. She hatches a grand plan to find out what his dream night would be.
Once in Thailand, Savannah finds out what Johnny's erotic fantasy is, and she doesn't know how to react. Does she want to heat things up in the bedroom or remain unsatisfied? If she accepts his request, what will become of their marriage?
The thing I liked most about the book was the realistic approach Stella Knights had to Savannah and Johnny's relationship. I could connect automatically with having a monotonous job, nosy in-laws and trying to find something new for the bedroom. The love scenes are in wonderfully good taste. They were written effectively, and Savannah's emotions on the page were easy to sympathize with. I heartily enjoyed Pam too. She was relatable, and down-to-Earth on her responses to personal questions Savannah would bring up.
What I disliked the most is the cliffhanger at the end. This is book one of the series, so a cliffhanger was undoubtedly expected. However, I felt the book demanded closure on other aspects to support such a lingering ending.
I only detected a couple of errors throughout, so it was remarkably edited. This, along with the fact it wasn't a typical erotic read, made me bump up this to a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I couldn't find much I didn't like and can not wait to get my hands on the following book when it becomes available.
I would enthusiastically recommend this to anyone wanting an unstereotypical erotic novel. If someone were seeking ways to communicate in their marriage, this might be of use. In addition, if a couple was stuck in a routine and were looking for other points of view, I would suggest this book. I would not recommend it to anyone under 18 due to the severe sexual content and foul language.
