Lost and Love: Thailand (Book One of the Lost and Love Series) by Stella Knights is a story about love and sex, and about finding your inner power, balance, and happiness. Savannah, who is married to Johnny and is working in a call center, grows bored of her monotonous daily life. She hates her job and her sex life is lacklustre, leaving her unsatisfied every time. To spice things up, she suggests to her husband Johnny that they take a trip to Thailand to which he reluctantly agrees. Savannah then visits a sex shop with her best friend Pam to unleash her and her husband’s fantasies. However, she soon learns that once that box is open, it can’t be shut again.

From her workaholic husband who puts everyone else’s needs before his marriage, to Savannah's dissatisfying job, to her easy-going best friend Pam, this is a story that a lot of women will be able to relate to. Throughout the book, we experience Savannah learning to break away from her boring life and become the woman that had been lurking inside her all along.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it was well written and perfectly edited. I didn’t notice any mistakes or inconsistencies. The story was engaging and exciting, and Savannah was an easy character to get behind and root for. The only thing I didn’t like about the book was that the payoff at the end fell a bit flat, but I didn’t feel like that was enough to mark it down. The story was engaging and emotional, and the characters and settings felt vibrant and alive.

What I liked most about this book was the way it was written. It had a good syntax and I never wanted to stop reading any time I had to pull myself away from the book. Knights' writing was able to draw me in and keep me there, lost in the story. What I disliked most was the aforementioned anticlimactic ending. It was a good set up for the next book, but I still would have preferred a bit more finality and closure that I didn’t have to wait for the next instalment to get.

I would recommend this book for all women. It’s an empowering story about finding your inner strength and making sure you’re treated the way you deserve, which are lessons every woman should learn. I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone under the age of 18 as it contains erotic scenes not suitable for a younger audience.
