While I do enjoy new authors, I will read everything that a known and loved author puts out.

If I find an author I enjoy, I'll usually read most of their work (particularly if it includes a series). But at the same time, I also like discovering new writers and finding other favorites.

I try and use different authors as well, to get the variety too. But I don't mind going with the same author a couple of times. I definitely read the jacket covers to make sure that it would be a book that I was interested in; I feel like just because I loved the author of one book, doesn't mean that the author will put out the same energy level into another book as he/she did with the previous book I read.

I usually stick with the same author until I have read all their books.

I like reading multiple books from authors I like. But I usually try not to read more than two in a row from the same author.

If I've enjoyed a book by a certain author I'll read other works if I come across them - but it's not often that I'm so struck by someone that I have to read absolutely everything that they wrote, which is probably just as well as that could work out expensive. I like to try out new authors rather than just the tried and trusted, and I'm always interested in recommendations from other people.

Sometimes I really want to be able to read more books from the same author, and sometimes I do actually manage to pick up another book or two from them, but that doesn't happen often. I like to read from lots of different authors. I feel like if I would constantly be reading from the same authors, I'd get bored of reading altogether. I think it's good to read from different authors, that way you wont' get tired of the same writing style, or maybe even similar plots. I've mentioned this in another thread, but it really bothers me when I ask someone what kind of books they read, and they respond with "Anything by John Green!!" Like, really? That's it?? Yes, he's great, but I mean come ON. There's so much out there for you to explore and you are limiting yourself to this one author that practically uses the same type of characters over and over again.

When I like an author, I try to keep track of when they have a new book coming out. I rarely find a time when there is not something new by someone I really like. However, I do like to find new "friends" , and then I look to recommendations in book review sections of Oprah, or the library book review magazine. Or I browse the library stacks for something that looks appealing. I also look at websites of favorite authors, and sometimes they will mention authors they are friendly with, or that they recommend, and I check them out.

I usually always will pick up a book from an author I like. Sometimes though, I just go for a story that sounds good, even if I've never heard of the author before. That's how I usually discover new authors and continue to get books from them.

I don't have a preference. When I find an author that I love, I will read as many of their works that I can get my hands on.

I've tried so many different authors. I'll buy a book by an author I like, but I don't just look specifically for them.
